A good article from the PPA for photographers regarding the published state of work, particularly in an era of online galleries with the ability to download.
Also a good reminder that it’s always a good idea to keep your intentions clear, with a copyright mark, and those three little words - All Rights Reserved.

This restoration really moved me. The lady dressed in blue with the white hat said this was the last photo of her family with her husband when his health was good, before he passed. She asked me to make a family picture just of her, her two sons and husband, removing the rest of the wedding group.
This past year I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to work at Flourish Market, a gorgeous home decor and gift shop in the heart of the Berkshires. Jennifer, the store owner, is multitalented, with a great eye for graphic and interior design. This made her a formidable set director and a pleasure to shoot with as we worked to really perfect and capture the images she wanted to get.
If you are in the area or passing through West Stockbridge, Massachusetts, I highly recommend a visit.
Happy Valentine’s Day! 🌹🥰😘
It doesn’t matter how long I’ve been a photographer, there’s nothing as thrilling as seeing your work on display 👌
Thank you for sending me this picture of your cd!
I always say, the more I learn about photography, the more impressed I am with the abilities of the human eye (& brain).
“Most cameras use an image sensor chip based on CMOS technology or, as it is called, a CMOS Image Sensor (CIS). CISs have seen considerable technological evolution, from front to backside illumination, the number of pixels per CIS, pixel design, and pixel size (the current smallest pixel being 0.7μm).
In order to obtain a full-color image, most sensors implement a color filter array (CFA) to record the primary colors of light. After the CIS records the colors, they are combined to create a full-color picture”
Some brains are more impressive than others; here’s the science bit explaining the current technology that gives us color photos:

“Norvin, would make a fine actor, but, in fact, has a very plain face that looks much like a shark. Norvin spends his days swimming in the crowded Caramel cove, moving through the water like a silver arrow, and bumping into other swimmers.”

Character Lighting
Just have to save this link here for myself. It’s one of the most interesting reads about lighting I’ve read in a long time.
Chapter 8.5: Character Lighting - Chris Brejon CG Cinematography Shot Lighting describes the process and improvements a shot artist has to take care of. Not the most valued task but essential.
Summertime. Sunshine. Swimming.
Breathe in the giggles, breathe out the tantrums.
Getting bigger 💕 I see opinions brewing...

Testing the water...
I recently experienced my first time in “Facebook Jail”. A photograph of mine was apparently flagged by an auto bot as “not following community standards”. It was a picture of the head and shoulders of a toddler at a lake. I disagreed as was one of my options, and Facebook responded they had reviewed my post and had “made a mistake”, my post “did follow community standards and has been restored”.
However the set of photographs has been hidden and I am unable to add new photos on my page.
After some searching online it appears a flagged image can result in an initial 3 day ban, although my page status is clear “with no restrictions or violations”.
It got me wondering about photographers who worked pre-social media - where did you showcase your work? What was your most effective marketing tool?
Nothing more relaxing than a few days by a lake with friends 💕
Feeling thankful for a restful few days with good friends & family. Hard to leave this picture perfect cabin view!
There’s lots to see at the county fair!

Pixels and dots per inch, why the right number is the best number.
What are megapixels, and is more always better? How does pixel-count translate to physical print sizes, and how many pixels do you really need?
