So, what happens once you get an offer accepted? Depending on the type of financing and contingencies in the contract, the typical process looks more or less like this:
✔️Accepted offer!
Congrats! You received an offer on your home and accepted it!
✔️Remove contingencies!
Some financing requires an appraisal. Most contracts require inspections. If the buyer is paying cash, there’s no underwriting. It is different for each type of financing so this step is longer for contracts with more contingencies and financing.
✔️Clear to close!
This means that all the necessary work to get the sale completed is *almost* done.
The final step is closing where money is exchanged, final signatures are gathered, and keys are given.
