Summer camp is having a ball! One of our favorite field trips!
As our VPK graduates begin their last summer before "big school," we wanted to reflect on the year. We are so proud of each and every one of them. Both classes made such great gains this year. We saw percentile ranks jump as much as 93 percentile points from August to May. This is our second year in a row where all of our students scored better than at least 94% of the students in the state! The majority of our students both years scored in the 98-99 percentile rank at the end of the year. We are so appreciative of our teachers' hard work and dedication to our students year after year.
Graduation for this year's VPK Class was one of our highest attended ceremonies ever. We had over 300 in attendance with standing room only! We are grateful for Unity Creations and all of their hard work to make our graduation look fabulous. Thank you also to Early Learning Coalition of Polk County for the gift bags full of supplies to help our kids to stay sharp over the summer and ready for next year.
It is bittersweet to send all of these "big" kids off to kindergarten next year, they are definitely ready!
Happy Teacher Appreciation Week to all of our amazing teachers! Our school family is blessed to have each one of you a part of it.
Today our staff is attending the Right from the Start - Social Emotional and Mental Health Conference presented by the Learning Coalition of Polk County. We are looking forward to a day to learn more about key aspects of mental health and social-emotional learning in early childhood. Hanging out with Coy Boyles from the Zac Brown Band is just an added bonus.
We had a stellar day learning about the solar eclipse.
“He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.” (Matthew 28:6)
This Easter morning we praise and give honor to our Savior, Jesus Christ. During his mortal ministry, he accomplished all his Father asked him to do.
He did not waiver.
He did not yield to temptation.
He did not shrink as he partook of the bitter cup.
His mortal ministry culminated in a selfless act only He was worthy to accomplish— He atoned for the sins of all mankind and then rose from death as a living witness of His power to redeem.
As we strive to follow Him, we will more deeply understand His infinite love for us.
We will become more like Him.
We will be filled with hope.
We will be saved by Him.
We will make Him our sure anchor!
He lives!
He lives! All glory to his name!
He lives, my Savior, still the same.
Oh, sweet the joy this sentence gives:
“I know that my Redeemer lives!”

Pi day continues! Our Spring Break camp has been busy to say the least!
Pi day! Cherry, pumpkin, apple, pizza... what type of pie is your favorite?
We were feeling a bit froggy today for Leap Day. Frog burgers, roasted potatoes, zucchini sticks, honeydew, and frogs on logs for lunch. Frog eggs with lilypad applesauce and crackers for snack. We can't wait for next week when we celebrate National Read Across America Week!
We hope everyone had a lovely Valentine's Day. Thank you to all the parents who sent in cards and goodies. It was fun! Tomorrow, we celebrate the Lunar New Year! What an exciting (and exhausting) week!

We hope all of our children, staff, and families had a warm and wonderful Christmas!
What was the first gift of Christmas… Was it the meager offering of a stable for shelter when there was no room in the Inn? Was it the generous gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh which the wise men so tenderly laid before the crib of the Savior? Or perhaps it was the shepherd’s sacrifice of time to go and kneel before the King of Kings? Although each was a gift of import and symbolism, I believe the true first gift of Christmas was a parent’s LOVE.
Our Father in Heaven loved us so much that He sacrificed His only begotten Son for our redemption… so we could come home to Him again. No greater gift has ever been given. No matter the pain of your past, the struggle of your present, or the uncertainty of your future… LOVE was the answer, is the answer, and will ALWAYS be the answer.
That first gift of Christmas surpasses yesterday, reaches past today, and extends beyond tomorrow. From eternity through infinity… God’s love knows no bounds, undergoes no change, and experiences no wearing with time. God loves YOU inexpressibly, unexplainably, and unconditionally! So, as your family unwraps the gifts under the tree, reflect upon that first gift of Christmas and remember that YOU ARE LOVED!
We love our children and the families that we serve each day. We hope that all of our families had a very merry Christmas and a Christ-filled holiday.
During this Thanksgiving season and throughout the year model gratefulness to add to your child's social emotional learning. Listen to this Harvard Edcast and you will be even further inspired!
