A coworker has set up a "Take a sketch, leave a sketch" at their desk and I finally drew something to give them to trade for their excellent sketch.

I have been struggling with art block for a while now but I finally managed to finish a piece!

I absolutely LOVE these watercolor brushes.

When I saw that was doing a black cat tutorial for Halloween, I knew I had to make it my Harkness. He passed away in January this year.

He was a fluffy black cat, so loving and sweet. I miss him so much. I named him after my favorite Dr. Who companion Captain Jack Harkness.

I loved doing this tutorial!

Making things glow is now one of my favorite drawing techniques.

Before doing this piece, I didn't really know how to use the alcohol marker brushes but this was a fairly easy way to learn how to use them.

I have been struggling to make art lately. I haven't drawn anything or taken many photos in the past like... 6 months.

And that's okay. I haven't failed and I am not a disappointment.

I am working through a lot and trying to grow as a person and that takes energy. I still have depression and anxiety and that also takes energy.

Its fascinating to me how many things in my life go through cycles. And I think art is no exception to that.

Its okay to take breaks. its okay for things to be cyclical. Its okay to love doing something and not do it all the time. It doesn't mean you are not an artist or photographer.

I put these lego sunflowers together because they make me happy. I didn't do it to sell them or for others to tell mr how pretty they are. I did it for me. And that's okay too.

I closed my Etsy shop a couple years ago because it was just getting worse and worse.
