✨Student Highlight!✨ Meet Thomas Douglas, a junior majoring in Creative Writing, minoring in UCA History Department! A member of the UCA Feminist Union he has also been a judge of poetry for Vortex Magazine of Literature and Art! When asked to give a message to prospective students: "My message to prospective students would be to find your community early on and start finding your place on campus, because it helps motivate you through the stress of college life."

2020 CLA Faculty Awards

Please help us congratulate our 2019-2020 College of Liberal Arts Outstanding Student, Cagney Kilgroe!

Cagney served as the College of Liberal Arts SGA Representative, has held leadership roles in Model UN, the Debate and Forensics Union, the Public Administration Club and the Pi Sigma Alpha-Political Science Honors Society, and is active in several other RSO’s

She is a two-time national qualifying member of the UCA Ethics bowl team, and she attended The Washington Center’s Cyber Security Seminar in Washington D.C.

Cagney has also presented her research at the College’s Annual Research Symposium and the Arkansas Political Science Association's annual meeting. It’s no surprise that her professors speak so highly of her!

This year, she was accepted to the UALR Bowen School of Law and granted the Bowen Fellowship. She hopes to pursue a joint MPA/JD program after graduation. Congrats Cagney!

CLA Outstanding Students The College of Liberal Arts’ Outstanding Student Award recognizes undergraduate students who have made significant contributions at UCA. Deadline to nominate or apply is February 29th, 2020.

Posted • History students at the University of Central Arkansas taking a course on the diplomatic history of the United States are seeking veterans willing to record an interview about their experiences serving in the United States military. The interviews will be submitted to the Veterans History Project (VHP) as part of the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress.

Interviews will be recorded in October and early November and will probably last around one hour. No preparation is required.
