POW 🔥 this one is a wrap! This primary bathroom went from one full bathroom to two full bathrooms - each with a much better style!! What do you think of this before and after of the primary suite?!

Now this is a much better texture 🤍 I’m giddy about this before-n-after!!

So fun to revisit this before and after! This bathroom was half as big because there was a wall diving the space. A very strange design that I can somewhat appreciate because someone in the 60s was doing something unconventional. But it was no longer current or beautiful. So here’s to the next chapter in the life of this bathroom!

Still crazy about this kitchen reno from earlier in the year! The floors, cabinetry, tops, hood detail… it all amounted to a really wonderful transformation!

There might be a little dust on the tab pulls… but it’s looking fine at the Stonehenge.

We are Jordan and Lindsey Barkel, the creatives behind our business: White Pine Design!

It was our starter home that really created the avenue for our design + build business endeavor – our home on White Pine, the namesake for our company. Jordan would come home from his days’ work (of working on gorgeous lakeshore homes) to Lindsey, a home-maker at the time that always had new ideas for our home. We’d put the kids to bed and work late into the night on our own home. Jordan taught Lindsey a thing or two about some tools; we’d put on music, make a drink, and work some more! We’d have occasional fights but we’d kiss and make up again…. we were married young and this was us growing up together, learning to work together as husband and wife, and as future business professionals! These late nights of DIY ignited something in us. We loved to dream up a design together and work on it… we created a fun experience around our working environment and always seem to be creating ambiance around the finished product – mood lighting, curated decorating, quality fit & finishes.

I realize I’m always drawn to reading captions about the people behind the product - thought I’d share a little about us and to say Thank You for being here and following along with our journey!

Add a little pink on the shelves and a photo of Santorini, fresh fruit on the island and florals from a friend (that actually took center stage over the ferns) and it feels like summer! 🤙🏼

The original White Pine HQ! Our first showroom 🖤 We had looked into changing the color of our brick to modernize our brick ranch home so many times throughout the years. But we decided to keep it instead and work with it. Dark navy doors and greenery has done the trick. And now I actually prefer this terracotta brick home of ours. And you know I love a good before and after!

Let there be light! Quite different views of the backyard this year vs last! New windows and the living room doubled in size. Would you believe this photo is taken from the same vantage point?! And yes, there is furniture occupying the room once again!

You can bet that if you have existing wood floors, we’re going to encourage you to keep them versus replacing them. Feather in new if/where there’s a transition, refinish, and voilà! We opt for natural vs synthetic in most of our finishes - it adds beauty and appreciating value. Check out the before!

This bathroom deserves a name! The design accommodates the rustic, imperfect elements of the old farmhouse where it dwells. It is matte, polished, natural, neutral, authentic. I’ll name her: The Prim. She’s a balance of primitive and polished, and seems to capture that.

Not too much longer till our backyard oasis reaches its prime (2nd pic is currently). You can find us wrapping up the day here, from now on 🥰. Makes me feel poetic:

We’re excited to share this beautiful kitchen we recently wrapped up! Our Kallie 👉🏼 took the design lead on this one and it turned out beautifully! Our clients were amazing - a delight to work for! We couldn’t be happier with the final product!

Jobsite visit - tile is starting!!! This was a cutie bathroom before but wowza, it’s going to be even more charming when it’s finished!

Welp, another indoor day|night inside. Keeping this cherry plant by my side until I can be outside again!

I don’t know who needs to hear this but you’ll probably get what you want eventually too maybe 🥴 Our last year’s clients waited on a bed frame for months and months, another for sofa fabric-months, plumbing fixtures-months. But it all came eventually! Think of it as trendy- it’s the coolest! The lead time struggles are real, friends… expect and plan for it! 😮‍💨

New sofa slipcover + legs and we’re really happy with it! Feels like a new sofa! Couldn’t decide what we wanted but we knew we didn’t want to wait 6 months for the next thing. (Current slipcover had a hole in it). 5 stars to !

Good day from Paris! I mean… my couch… that has a map of Paris behind it. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I’m appreciating cozy nooks during our spring break staycation! This map… I can still get lost in the detail of it!

This home 🤍 (from the archives - one of my first gigs) My client had treasures from global journeys throughout her lifetime to pull from. She told me so many incredible stories as I dug through boxes of treasures, as I delighted in what she had! Shelf styling has always been a favorite hobby of mine… even from the days I was little. Vive Vignettes!

From the archives! This was one of my first official design jobs! A home with such great character and an artist of a client that had amazing pieces to feature. It felt like play for me! We put some of her pieces and collections on display with these simple pedestals (built by yours truly - well, Jordan, of wpd!) The most gorgeous family heirloom Persian runner had to be featured on display here as well. My heart pitter patters all over again remembering this job 🤎
