By doing this people will be able to create more comfortable environments, leading children to more successful and fulfilling lives. Sunshine Behavior Services, LLC, also provides professional development services to facilities that work with children with disabilities. Teachers and other professionals need extra training and support regarding the best methods to work with a diverse group of children, especially children with behavior and sensory challenges. Sunshine Behavior Services will build on professionals existing knowledge of serving children in a group setting, offering tools to make environmental assessments and adaptations based on children’s behaviors. Along with consulting Colleen has spent her career as a classroom teacher, as an Inclusion Specialist instructing early childhood professionals on the best practices of working with children with disabilities, as a District Ally for the Autism Society of Indiana, and as a sensory-sensitive hairstylist and salon owner, and recently as a registered yoga teacher with an additional children's yoga certification. Colleen has presented to several area support groups, family meetings, for first responders and prison staff, local early childhood conferences, as well as nationally at autism conferences. Colleen takes a blend of all of her skills and offers a unique perspective to families and service providers, as well as teaching strategies to individuals to help keep control of their stressors, instead of letting the stressors control them!
