When life gives you a laser light show at a tech/art conference… you take a glassy eyed selfie and go get dinner.

One of the most impressive, beautiful, and disgusting things I have ever experienced.

This time next week I’ll be starting a new position as Recruitment Manager at Cranbrook Academy of Art (my alma mater!). This week is about packing up our house and moving me half way across the country. Stefan will follow once our house is officially on the market and we figure out how to transport a car sick cat. (DM me any suggestions!)

It is a bitter sweet move, but we are excited for the new adventure!

Last Hawaiian sunset. I’m a lucky girl. I was able to spend my 40th with this wonderful human in paradise for a week. We sunned ourselves in cabanas, ate all the fish, swam with turtles, cuddled a River Rose, and spent much needed time with our 💗Danielle and her beau.

It’s been a wild ride.

In the wise words of the all-knowing “You went HARD this vacay 😂”

Reminder: Go see the The Regional Exhibition of Art & Craft at the Fitchburg Art Museum. It is one of the longest-running juried exhibitions in New England, 86 years!

The curation and selection are exquisite. Plus, two of my works are there! The show closes on September 4th.

August harvest. It’s been so hot, but these little friends remind me that winter is coming 🙃

About

Tatiana Flis creates drawings and sculptures that recall the sacred and ethereal moments of discovery that often dissipate in the face of pragmatism. In offering the viewer a familiar landscape, she allows access into private worlds not unlike our own, creating connections across boundaries of time and space. The experience is an intriguing game between real and illusory, questioning our social constructs. Flis’ subtle forms and drawings, which combine aspects of the natural landscape with human elements, draw the viewer into other dimensions, exploring relationships between the human psyche and moments of chaos, solitude, tension, excess and absence. The common theme across her drawings and sculptures is the relationship between human, nature, and object.
