From EWG.org:
900 chemicals commonly found in cosmetics, drinking water and cleaning supplies cause changes in the body that are linked to breast cancer development, according to a new study. Shockingly, most of these chemicals were never tested for safety before hitting the market, and many remain on the market, despite overwhelming evidence of their serious health effects.
Take a look at some of the chemicals identified:
Phthalates, a group of hormone-disrupting chemicals commonly used in cosmetic products.
Atrazine, an herbicide linked to mammary tumors in rats but dismissed as not harmful to humans by the EPA.
TCE, an industrial solvent linked to cancer that contaminates the drinking water of 19 million Americans.
