Checking in! How is the Hershey Summer Challenge going for your Panthers?
Check out the wild horses Mr. Lehe saw!
Mr. Lehe’s Adventures 3
Mr. Lehe had a quite a day yesterday as he hiked & climbed to his 42nd state high point: Boundary Peak, Nevada. This trail was in the middle of nowhere and had next to no trail markers all the way to the top. It was very steep and challenging getting to the summit, but thankfully, Mr. Lehe made a friend (the only other person on the mountain) and they hiked together for the day. And they came across some wild horses! It was a long & tough day, but a good one. The journey continues!
Mr. Lehe’s Adventure Part 2
This morning, Mr. Lehe summited Humphreys Peak, Arizona, the first state high point of the trip and his 41st overall. It was a beautiful day and a wonderful hike up the trail. And as an added bonus, some kind (but kind of crazy) young man carried a whole watermelon to the top of the mountain to share with others & Mr. Lehe got a piece! Now time to hit the road again. Stay tuned!
We are looking forward to seeing our Hershey families tonight! Don't have tickets? They are still available!
As some of you may know 3rd grade teacher, Mr. Lehe, received the Lilly Teacher Creativity Grant this year to support his goal to climb to the highest point in all 50 states. He started his seven week trip and is currently in Flagstaff, Arizona. Before taking on the tallest mountain, Mr. Lehe spent the midday acclimating to the higher elevation by hiking up nearby Kendrick Peak, a 10,417’ mountain. Beautiful scenery all around and a great view of his next mountain to climb. And as you can see, he’s bringing some Hershey Pride with him, courtesy of Mr. Schnepp. Stay tuned for more updates from Mr. Lehe’s adventures!
