The Legion’s flag program season has opened! Teams worked hard yesterday between the storm and rain to get those holiday home flags flying. Great to see them up again! And thank you to our participants. 🇺🇸 Post 430’s Memorial Day Service is on Monday morning at 9:30 in the Durant Cemetery. (Rain location is the Durant High School gym). Always a wonderful ceremony honoring our veterans. Have a good and safe weekend.

Holiday Home Flag renewals: Memorial Day is right around the corner. If you haven’t sent in your renewal yet, please do so ASAP. We want to ensure all of our faithful flag participants have a flag flying as our season opens. Reminders were sent a couple months ago, and some texts have been sent this week. Happy Easter from Unit 430! We hope everyone is having a blessed day. 🌷 And….thank you to all who came out and helped at the Legion Fish Fry last night. After the Iowa women beat Colorado the crowd rolled in! 😁 Fish fries have wrapped for the season and return in the fall!

The Flag Comittee sent out holiday home flag renewal notices a couple weeks ago. 🇺🇸 We’ve had a great response! If you haven’t sent in your renewal please do so soon to ensure you have a flag flying when our season kicks off at Memorial Day. Any questions you can PM me here or on my FB page. A million thanks to everyone who helped at and came out to our Veterans Appreciation Pancake Breakfast held this past Saturday at the Legion.🥞Couldn’t do it without all of you. It was a success! Proceeds will go to local veterans causes. 🇺🇸Special thanks to the Cub Scouts and parents who are always a huge help in the dining room. And to the Richmans who we can always count on. Finally, to our Auxiliary members who worked the event and made casseroles. Couldn’t do it without all your support. We wish all of you a blessed Thanksgiving. 🦃

Durant Auxiliary, Unit 430 Pancake Breakfast reminder and announcement! Join us on Saturday at the Legion for this annual event. Pancakes, sausage, and egg casserole being served 8 to 11. Yes….The sign outside the Legion says til noon. We are planning on serving til 11 this year. We thank you for your support! 🥞

Busy week at the Post and for the Auxiliary! Teams worked yesterday afternoon and this morning to get those Veteran’s Day flags flying. See the article in this week’s Advocate for a nice story and great info on the flag program. We are closing out the season, but take new sign ups all year round. 🇺🇸 The Auxiliary put together goody bags for veterans. We set up at the school this morning to hand them out at the Veteran’s Day ceremony. Thank you vets! And finally, a reminder that the Auxiliary’s Veterans Appreciation Pancake Breakfast is NEXT Saturday, November 18th at the Legion. Serving 8 til 11 am. 🥞 Donations benefit local veteran’s causes. Post 430 put on another wonderful Memorial Day service this morning at the Durant Cemetery. 🇺🇸 Auxiliary Unit 430 placed our remembrance wreath. 🌺 Thank you to the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
