There are a lot of new faces here and I thought it might be a good time to check in, say hello, and share a little bit about myself and The Sage & Spirit.

I’m a Spirit Speaker and Soul Guide and I started The Sage & Spirit over 10 years ago! I am a psychic medium and channel that operates within all the psychic senses. I use my unique connection with spirit realm and other dimensions to help others process grief, heal, and communicate with their loved ones that have crossed over. As a Soul Guide I combine my gifts to help others discover their power, navigate shadow work, discover their light and ultimately unf #%k themselves to own their true power and purpose. I lead from example and teach anecdotally. I facilitate space to help unlock your own intuitive and psychic gifts. My 12 Week Immersive guides you to unleash your magic. My list of accomplished accolades is long but that’s the most you’ll hear about them. Too humble to steal the spotlight.

One of the most common questions I get asked is “How long does it take to connect with someone after they passed?”

I wish there was a clearly defined answer for this. I’ve heard people say some wild stuff like you have to wait 1-2 years before having a reading to connect with your loved one.

So today hopefully I can set the record straight from my experiences over the years as a medium both personally and professionally.

There are so many factors that come into play during a reading that is going to determine its success. The sitter’s openness to the experience greatly affects how the session will go. If you aren’t ready to receive then spirit is going to oblige. It’s like a code of ethics and conduct in the spirit realm.

In most cases when someone crosses over they can be connected with pretty quickly. Our soul consciousness is essentially an omnipresent being existing in some deep metaphysical multidimensional state.

Things that make connecting to a recently passed loved one more challenging:
- the state of your relationship when they passed
- trauma
- extreme emotional desire on behalf of the sitter or reader to make the connection
- ego
- the sitter isn’t open to receiving
- spirit isn’t ready to talk to you for whatever reason (this one is vague but I’ve seen many different reasons over the years)

While we always have that person we hope will come through my best advice when considering a reading is to try to eliminate expectations on what or how you think it should go. Sometimes the most profound messages come from unexpected sources.

I’m not one to burn incense like I used to. This morning I wanted to set the vibe and intentions for the day. I rummaged through my drawer of my years of collecting and found one named Ajaro. This incense had to be close to 20 years old but the orange and floral box said calm, spring and peace to me. It was soft and feminine and just as the box hinted. Upon some research these particular incense are suggested for stressful times and anxiety. A gift from teenage me to me today 💛
