If you’ve been on campus at all lately, you have seen that an exciting change has been coming, and last Friday our beautiful new garden was re-dedicated to the students, staff, and their families 💜
Amazing community members Linda and Gilbert Badillo, along with the Del Norte Garden Club, worked hard to recreate this beautiful space. So much thought was put into every detail. From the calming colors, to the flowerbeds being wheelchair height, the whimsical and fun signs and art, and most importantly shade so that our students can enjoy the garden year round!
Last Friday was a fun celebration as we all enjoyed a performance from our preschool class and the Venture choir. We also heard a little bit of history about George Key, the man our school was named after. There were fun photo ops, refreshments, and even a succulent to take home.
George Key School is so thankful for our very own Secret Garden!
Our annual BBQ and raffle was a big success despite the morning rain. Thank you to everyone who came and enjoyed lunch with us and who bought raffle tickets. It was so much fun!!
**Our raffle is this Friday!!! Send in your form for tickets asap for a chance to win some fantastic baskets! Call the school or message us for more info.**

Last week we had some fun activities at school. Read Across America celebrating Dr. Seuss brought students from Golden Elementary to read with our George Key students. Cereal day was fun to come to school in comfy pajamas while making choices about preferred cereals. Ms. Kim’s class had a cake walk with the yummiest of cakes and cookies. The students used their communication devices to play the music, announce a winner and choose their treats. Our school has awesome activities created by awesome teachers!
TONIGHT is our next parent night at 7:00 in Mr. Julio’s classroom! Come meet other parents and learn some helpful hints when traveling, and especially when using John Wayne airport.
Your student is welcome to attend as well, hope to see you there!
Friday’s assembly was full of good things! Student of the month awards were distributed and Boy Scout Preston Wilson delivered his Eagle Project to the school. He made a mobile communication board with core words for the students to use on the playground, PE room and more, as well as a gift of $800. Thank you, Preston!
Bobcat spirit wear is back, but you have to act fast! Order your t-shirts and/or sweatshirts by Wednesday, January 31!
