Merchants & Farmers Bank was invited to attend the Vinton Middle School awards program to receive a token of appreciation for being a Partner in Education during the 2023-2024 school year.

Catherine Carrier also delivered financial education material to approximately 70 students in 5th grade at Vinton Elementary.

Students were given custom edition Comic Books, Black Panther, Avengers, and Guardians of the Galaxy created by Marvel Comics® and Visa® which include financial literacy exercises. The comics combine Marvel's iconic superheroes with Visa's financial literacy expertise to introduce young readers to fundamental money management concepts in an entertaining and engaging way, which teach young people about personal finance.

Merchants & Farmers Bank is proud to partner with Evans FBLA Community Service Project, “School Supply Drive”, in hopes of helping provide students with all supplies needed in order to have a successful school year.

We believe this project will continue to allow financial relief to all EHS student families for the 2024-2025 academic school year.

Merchants & Farmers Bank delivered financial education material to all schools in Vernon Parish after testing for the school year was complete.

Approximately 1,200 students, in grades 5th & 6th, were given custom edition Comic Books, Black Panther, Avengers, and Guardians of the Galaxy created by Marvel Comics® and Visa® which include financial literacy exercises. The comics combine Marvel's iconic superheroes with Visa's financial literacy expertise to introduce young readers to fundamental money management concepts in an entertaining and engaging way, which teach young people about personal finance.

Teachers were given information on Visa's® free financial education program, Practical Money Skills, an interactive guide with lesson plans, resources, and more money topics to set children on a path to financial fitness, in which they were excited to receive this material to give the kids something fun to work on their last week of school.
