Opening in 1928, it is the nation’s oldest airfield and home to the nation’s first commercial airline terminal. In fact, in 1935, Amelia Earhart led the dedication of this landmark terminal building. (Only London’s Croydon Aerodrome predates the Newark terminal.) The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey is proud to announce that we have selected Doppelmayr, a market leader in cable-propelled support systems, to replace the existing AirTrain system at Newark Liberty International Airport - EWR!

Car Renters Travel Advisory
Starting at 2 am on Wednesday, November 15, all rental car companies at Newark Liberty will be relocated to a new consolidated rental car center on levels 1 through 3 within the Terminal A parking garage.

Cultivating local talent plays a key role in helping The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey transform our region’s airports, which is why we invited over a hundred local students to join summer programs at Newark Liberty International Airport - EWR, John F. Kennedy International Airport - JFK, and LaGuardia Airport. Students learned about opportunities in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM), went on tours of our airports, and got hands-on experiences like building test rockets, being behind the controls of a flight simulator, and even operating a drone!
