I seek those souls who resonate with this!! I just came across a talk I did a while back at a women's expo. I feel so rejuvenated to bring what is embodied in this talk back into my life full force and with vigor. I seek my ladies who feel my words in their souls and want to get things moving too! Or maybe you already are and see how we could compliment each other!

I'm going to share the talk with you in it's raw beauty, even down to the prompts I made myself to breathe and make eye contact.

I offered a free circular breath work recording with this and just listened to it and did the exercise for myself. It is very powerful.

Comment below if you want the link to try it out! All my love to you on this beautiful sunny day!

Make eye contact and breathe… 3 counts to each part of the stage.

Thank the MC, thank FEE for creating a powerful platform to stand from.

Topics
1. Empowerment and connection. I love women! I love doing what I do as a doula, working with women and their birth partners or teams! I love seeing a group of women come together and encourage each other, love each other… BRING EACH OTHER HIGHER!

I wasn’t always like this and I think that is an unfortunate symptom of our conditioning. Women used to scare me, comparison, negative competition and poor self love were a large reason for that. I was brought up with other examples of that around me in my community and even in my own home at times, that was all I knew. And it didn’t work for me, I could not conform to it. So I rebelled against it, and ultimately it made me more unhappy. I’ve finally, through different experiences come to realize the immense power found through unconditional, strong female relationships. I have made my greatest and strongest improvements through these connections and the realization that we are all in this together, we are all one and by supporting and loving one another unconditionally we really will change the world.

Please take a moment to look around you, look into the eyes of your neighbors. Breathe together and acknowledge the beauty you see, feel the power, feel the intention and the connection. This connection will move mountains if necessary. If you are willing, and I understand if you are not, let’s make a promise today. A promise to let go of fear, judgement, negative competition, anger, resentment, comparison and any other emotion that may block us from being sincere with each other. Let’s make a promise to replace them instead with a remembrance of a sisterhood that rises above all those things, a sisterhood so powerful that it cannot be defeated or deflated. A sisterhood that will remind other woman of their divinity and worth when they have forgotten and in turn bring us all higher. Creating the force that will improve our world.

2. Self love. It is a necessity for us to love and accept ourselves to be able to truly love and accept those around us. I know we can all use more self love in our lives, we’re women! My husband read through my speech the other day and gave me a few pointers! He pointed out how much stronger he believes women are than men. I know, but these are his words, and I was shocked to hear them too! He said “Take ‘man flu’ for instance, men get a cold and we suffer. We suffer so badly you’d think we were in labour ourselves! But a woman get’s a cold and she just carries on. And not only does she carry on but she takes care of her suffering man and children along the way. She also does this, mostly, without complaint.”

Well I say that’s all well and good and yes we are superwomen, however who is going to look after us? Although I’m sure we have those around us who are willing and able ultimately, we need to take that responsibility into our own hands. We must fill our cups and ensure we are deeply in love with ourselves. No more negative language and self doubt. You my dear, are enough, you are whole just the way you are. I don’t say this to sound cliche, I say this because it is true. Please just as you made a promise to remind others of their divinity make an even stronger promise to remind yourself. As a doula I get the privilege of witnessing the female body in all it’s glory, it is so incredible that it creates life, all on it’s own. Ok, yes men do assist us in the beginning and we love them for it (most of the time) but our bodies know exactly what to do at exactly the right times to create these gorgeous little miracles and we don’t even need to think about it. We are aware it’s happening (again most of the time) and we prepare and take care of ourselves to the best extent we can, but at the end of the day it’s our body that knows what to do. This is powerful, we are such a force that we can carry on with day to day life, moving mountains if we wish, making a difference and our body can create a miracle in the meantime with, comparably, little notice from our minds.

Imagine what we could achieve through a greater connection and awareness of our bodies? Imagine if we actually held a daily awareness of our bodies. If we checked in and knew where we physically held our emotions, where our energy levels came from, really truly understood the deeper meaning behind our so called Symptoms? There are many forms of self love and you will choose the best ones for you, however my favorite and one I feel is often overlooked, is breath work. Through awareness of our breathing we can create a stronger connection to ourselves, to our bodies. Breathing helps to center us, our breath helps us to return to the moment, connect to others and most importantly connect to ourselves (and our babies, when we have one in there!) I love breath work for self connection as it can be used at any time, anywhere and in any situation. Breathing is not simply a symptom of existing, when we bring it into our awareness our health improves, our stress levels reduce and our lives improve. It’s like magick!

3. Pay it forward, Who has seen that film? The one where the little boy gets a school assignment to do a kind deed for 3 others, who in return do a kind deed for 3 more and so on and so forth. Why not do that with our experiences? I don’t care how well we hold our masks and how well we hide behind our stage fronts. Every human on this planet has gone through a rough patch. Has had an obstacle that they have overcome and hopefully learned from… Share yours, become a story teller, allow others to see the raw, true, genuine you. Take what you learn through 1. Your connection and empowerment of others, 2. Your connection and empowerment of yourself to 3. Pass on the information… to our children, to our spouses, to your community, to the world. Change starts here, women are truly at the forefront of creating a new better world. We are THE Force. It starts in our homes, empowering our families, helping them to know their worth from the get go. It then seeps in to our schools, our work places, our colleagues families and continues until we make a change. Another promise, if you’re up for it? If not I understand. Bur if you are, let’s make a promise to pay it forward. Share your message with at least 3 others, who in turn do the same and etc etc.

Lets be grateful for our obstacles for they are what made us stronger, they are what brought us here. Let’s be aware of our darkness, let’s embrace it. You cannot have the light without the dark, it is a true necessity. Embrace and transmute our obstacles, our so called faults or flaws into beauty and grace and even better into applied knowledge. Use it to educate yourself, do not push your darkness down for it will find it’s way out, embrace it, love it, use it and then share it’s lesson with the world."

Women have 10 lb babies and their baby fits through their pelvis fine and they don't tear.

Old wives tales, be sure to educate yourself ❤ it's an important event in your life, empower yourself beautiful.

Women Who Don’t “Push” During Childbirth are 85 Percent Less Likely to Experience Severe Vaginal Tearing: https://returntonow.net/2017/10/22/no-push-labor/

Nine in ten women suffer some form of va**nal tearing during childbirth. In severe cases, they are left to suffer from incontinence and lifelong nerve problems.

After a sharp rise in severe perineal tearing in England between 2013 and 2014, the Royal College of Midwives initiated a call to action.

With the support of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, they implemented a trial program at Medway Maritime Hospital in Kent.

By simply not pressuring women to lie on their backs and “push,” the hospital reduced the number of third and fourth-degree perineal tears from 7 percent to 1 percent, an 85 percent reduction.

Dot Smith, the hospital’s head of midwifery, blames the high number of tears on the misconception that women in labor need to “push, push and then push harder.”

“When we saw 22 cases of third-degree tears in a month, we said, ‘this is not good enough,’ she said.

Women in the program were encouraged to birth standing up, squatting or on their knees, which was the norm until the 1950s.

Midwives also encouraged them to breathe naturally through contractions instead of urging them to push.

Instead of pulling the babies out as soon as their heads emerged, the midwives let them come out at their own pace, while supporting their weight to reduce pressure on the perineum.

The program was so successful the results were published in the European Journal Of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and there are plans to implement it nationally.

The simple protocol has already reduced unintentional damage to the bodies of birthing women by 85 percent in some maternity wards.

In an article called To Push or Not to Push, founder of HypnoBirthing Mickey Mongan says trying to “push” a baby into the world is counterproductive:

“Forced pushing creates stress for the birthing mother, which is self defeating in that it closes the sphincters of the va**na ahead of the descending baby.”

Mongan introduced the concept of mother-led breathing, in contrast to staff-directed breathing and pushing over 25 years ago: https://amzn.to/2LgB3NG

She says there is overwhelming evidence today that directed or forced pushing results in:

-Mother fatigue
-Increased morbidity for both mother and baby
-Inefficient uterine surges or contractions
-Increased risk of hypoxia
-Fetal heart rate abnormalities
-Damage to the pelvic floor muscles
-Ruptures eye and facial blood vessels
-Tearing of the perenium
-Increase need for episiotomy

I want to take a moment to appreciate the beauty that surrounds us, a moment to be aware of and also acknowledge the beauty in our darkness. Notice the gray sky's surrounding this double rainbow.
Remember how important it is to embrace our so called flaws and show gratitude for our obstacles.
