In EXIT: The Sacred Temple, you are racing through the jungle on a small island in the Indian Ocean, trying to save the professor and find the Sacred Temple before the treasure hunters do.

Only this time it’s different because there are riddles within riddles hidden within puzzles. Like other EXITs before it, this game has no game board! But it also has no cards; instead, in this new addition to the EXIT series, there are four puzzles, which you will find during play and assemble one section at a time, one puzzle after another. Each puzzle creates an image that will show you what you need to find in the game and what each room looks like.

At the start of the game, all you have available to you are the puzzle bag containing pieces with a grayish-blue back and no pattern, and the decoder disk. But there are also strange items to be found within the game that may be used to help solve the riddles found in each of the puzzles.

The game ends when you have solved the last riddle and saved the Professor and the Temple!

In a pretend bioengineering lab inside the game, kids play the role of scientists who use readings taken from three physical sensor pods outside the game. The readings are then transferred into the game via the base station. The sensor data dictates the different attributes your bioengineered creatures will have. For example, if you take a low temperature measurement, the creature generated will have long hair to keep warm. If the temperature is high, perhaps it will have scaly skin like a lizard. Or, a low light level captured by the light sensor might yield a creature with huge eyes to see better in the dark, while a high sound level reading might result in a creature with tiny ears. Additional attributes are controlled directly by settings in the app. Combined together, all of these variables lead to a seemingly infinite number of creatures you could create.

Continue to use the sensors to capture data that lets you care for your creatures, feed them, play with them, create habitats for them, and generate more creatures — all the while developing an intuitive sense of the different measurements you are taking with the sensors. You will gain experience in measuring light levels, volumes, and temperatures with the three sensor pods, and learn about the physics behind light, sound, and heat. Learning physics comes alive as you see the tangible results of your sensor experiments.

Meet Sammy, This cute little peanut butter and jelly sandwich is actually a robot that teaches coding principles and skills to children in grades K-2. You don’t need a tablet, smartphone, or computer to program this robot; programs are created by simply laying down a sequence of physical code cards. As the robot drives over the code cards, an OID optical scanner on the bottom of the robot reads the code cards one by one and loads the program. Next, place the robot on a grid made of map cards, and the robot runs the program. You can program the robot to move in different directions, activate its output gear, light up its LED, play sounds, and respond to different function cards.
