Each College is designed to serve both youth and adults in specified geographic areas.
Established as a statewide system by an enactment of Legislature during the 1963 General Assembly, the Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology operate under the governance of the Tennessee Board Of Regents. ***LPN Spotlight***
"Becoming a nurse was something I dreamed about doing ever since I was a little girl. I loved the idea of helping patients and their families. Another reason I chose nursing was because I wanted to go into a career with job stability as well as a career that had numerous pathways for advancement. I chose to go to TCAT to become an LPN so I could explore the nursing field and confirm my interest and aptitude for nursing before committing to a longer and more rigorous RN program.
I am so glad that I got my LPN because this gave me valuable hands-on experience in the healthcare industry. This became very beneficial for me once I decided to pursue further nursing education and become an RN. Working as an LPN allowed me to build professional relationships and network within the healthcare industry. Going to TCAT gave me the chance to "test the waters" and I knew that many programs in the area offered an LPN-to-RN bridging program."

Building Construction Technology students built the stairs, ramp, and mock buildings for the set of "Something Rotten" at Jefferson County High School. The class was given a picture of a 3D model and a drawing as a concept. Wheels were added to the ramp so it could be easily moved when not in use for certain scenes. The small stage at the bottom of the ramp has a 3/4" piece of Lexan(plastic) with a stage light installed inside. Way to go!
TCAT Morristown held it's first Summer Nursing Camp for high school juniors and seniors from Hamblen County and Jefferson County. The Collision Repair Technology program was recently able to purchase this new KECO glue dent removal station. This machine allows large dents to be pulled out using glue instead of welding on studs. Using welding on studs can destroy the corrosion protection on the back side of a panel which causes corrosion hot spots and lengthens repair time. This was purchased by funds from the $5000 grant awarded to the program by the Collision Repair Education Foundation and the Knoxville I-CAR committee. TCAT Morristown is so grateful for your support!
