Join us tomorrow at 1000 for another episode of Experience Army Medicine. This week’s episode features Major TJ Peper, an Optometrist from W**d Army Community Hospital. He shares his personal experiences and explains why he chose to become an Optometrist in the U.S. Army. Additionally, he discusses why he selected the Health Professions Scholarship Program to help jump-start his career.
Dinner Ceremony - On the final day, educators were honored at a farewell dinner. As a token of appreciation, they received Certificates of Appreciation and Battalion Coins from the Battalion Commander. Additionally, attendees were presented with an MRE (Meal Ready to Eat) from their respective recruiters and participated in a class on its usage. We extend our gratitude to all attendees and contributors who made this event possible.
Day 3 - Our attending Educators visited the H2F facility (Holistic Health and Fitness). This program aims to help enhance the Soldier’s physical and non-physical performance through diet, sleep, and wellness training.
For lunch, our Educators roamed around the Exchange and experienced a meal at the food Court.
Finally, the 95th Military Working Dog Detachment exhibited the capabilities of their force. Our Battalion commander, LTC Jessica Horine, lead the charge and donned a bite suit to showcase theses amazing Working Dogs.
Day 2: Our honored educators who were invited to the Educators tour were given a tour of Madigan Army Medical Center. Professionals from each medical department briefed the educators on the importance of recruiting the next generation of medical professionals.
DAY 1: Guests arrive at the hotel as we kick off the 2024 Educator Tour at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. This tour aims to bring together educational professionals from our area and highlight the educational opportunities available to their medical students.

What better way to celebrate the Army's 249th Birthday than those just Commissioning into the Army. HPSP recipients Captain Sonja Chesnutt, Captain Samantha Garcia, and Captain June Lee were pinned with their new rank as fully qualified dentists. San Francisco Medical Recruiting Station Officer-in-Charge, Captain Christine Kim, coordinated the commissioning ceremony along with special guests: Medical Corps HPSP Recipient Captain Ryu and Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army, Mr. Mark Benton.

🔍 What is IPAP? The Interservice Physician Assistant Program (IPAP) offers well-qualified officers, warrant officers, and enlisted Soldiers the opportunity to become a physician assistant. During Phase 1, students learn basic medical sciences and clinical medicine courses during a 16-month program at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Phase 2 is a 13-month hands-on training at a military medical treatment facility.

On May 24th, 2024, LTC Logan officially relinquished command to LTC Jessica Horine.
LTC Horine is coming from Honolulu, Hawaii as the Chief of Operational Medicine for USARPAC (US Army Pacific Command).
LTC Logan will be heading to San Antonio, TX where she will advance her career through the Army-Baylor MBA/MHA Program.
