It’s important to know, most customers looking online are not going past the first page of listings, and most (about 70%) choose one of the businesses listed in the top 3. Then, the type of website is important as well! Slow loading sites are abandoned by over 40% of the customers! And these days, the majority of customers are looking online from a phone, so, sited must also be mobile friendly. Older sites and “free” or budget friendly sites do not generally meet all three of those criteria, so they are penalized (pushed down) by search engines, making it more difficult for business owners to get their name out there! Oh, another fun fact; every year, Google alters algorithms 400-600 times. That alone is quite a great deal to keep up with!
So, you've had a website for a while! Your website builder may or may not have mentioned that, for your prospective customers to see it, it has to be ranked on Google (and other search engines)! Wanna be more visible to your potential customers? According to the masterminds at Google, one core key is "Quality Content: Google wants to show users high-quality, informative, and relevant content. "
So.... how much? That first page, aka "landing page" or "Home Page" we recommend 1500 words or more. All of the other pages that explain services should also have close to 1000 words each. Don't forget, they need to be "on topic" to stay relevant! And, they cannot be copied from another website EVER.

One wise man told me many years ago, "Sales will cover the sins of the world" logically, he means the business world. And growth means sales!

Back in February we had posted about google ending this service for small businesses. With it being mid July, they have almost completed their task of closing those free websites. We had a call early this morning from the first business we have personally encountered here where the owner just had a ton of things going on in his life and was trying to help his boys get on track with their own different business, he had a health scare... just so many things life can throw at anyone all at once.... meanwhile, his "leader" was not so much interested in working, so the owner did not realize he had not been getting any calls other than family referrals for his service, and just yesterday he realized the news about the free websites going away, his had long been gone. He fired his "leader" and then he hired us. Given his circumstances, we will be putting in some overtime this week to get him up and rolling again. We will do whatever it takes to see this guy winning again, just like we do for all of our clients.

I spent over 30 years in restaurant management, some of which was in training and development. In 2009, I decided to further my education and in February of 2014, I graduated Summa Cum Laude and received my BA in IT and Web Design. In 2011, while studying, working full time and raising a family, I launched my own computer repair business, which I still run today. As the internet continued to become more and more relevant, I realized that it was there that the future of business was trending towards. Desktop computers and laptops were more affordable, to the point that it sometimes made more sense for a customer to buy a new computer than repair their old one. One of the services I offered was web design, so I began to focus more in that direction, which goes into more accessible devices, tablets and smart phones. I began doing it more and more, and in early 2016, I spun it off of the computer repair business and created Carpe DM Products, a web design, SEO and Lead Generation company located here in Spartanburg.
While still working on some computers and desktops, these days we are more driven to help smaller businesses with their online presence by building websites for them as well as providing services for them to flourish online, and provide growth to the business owners bottom line. Our specialty is capturing the audience seeking services and sending them directly to the right business owner that we work with. Essentially, we drive new clients to business owners by working with them to help meet their own business goals.
