8th Grade students learned about the Engineering Design Process by designing and building Paper Ball Runs. The purpose of the project was to go through the steps of the EDP to design the slowest paper ball run using the least amount of paper. Scores were calculated using the formula: (4 x time in sec)- ( # of sheets of paper used). The winners had a time of 14 seconds and a score of 45.8!
This weekend SMMS FFA members Addison Buchanon and Frances Blount traveled to Camp John Hope for the State Floral Design clinic. These young ladies were able to learn the skills needed in Floral Design from industry experts from across the state. Everyone did an amazing job and learned a lot. They definitely did much better than Mr. Smith!!
