Hi Friends! Take a look at the first draft of the Engagement Summary that is part of the South Siskiyou Sustainable Recreation Plan! If you came to a community outreach meeting in May, you are reflected in this document and Siskiyou Outdoor Recreation Alliance wants your feedback.

South County folks, we’ve got the first document from the South Siskiyou Sustainable Recreation Planning process ready for your review and, gosh, are we excited! The Engagement Summary serves to reflect what we heard in community meetings, partner interviews and Recreation Committee meetings. It’s full of key themes, findings from the survey (which had 163 respondents!) and four (yes, four!) pages of project ideas straight from county residents. Give it a good read, take your time and make notes. We’ll be getting together again this winter at public meetings where we want your input! And coming in the next week or so, we’ll have the draft Recreation Plan to share for your review as well.

The Chamber is asking for four volunteers to serve as judges for the Fourth of July parade at noon on July 4th, 2024.

Did you know that the Mt. Shasta 4th of July walk/run is the largest small-town walk in America?!

Considered a reverse parade, walkers and runners travel down a 2 or 5 mile course starting in downtown Mt. Shasta and travel through musicians, dancers, clubs, business stands, food booths and cheerer-oners!

With race registration, you will receive a beautiful Mt. Shasta 4th of July t-shirt designed by Green Layer Sports. This year, Mt. Eddy lupine and California poppies are featured along with our beloved mountain.

If you have already registered, you should have received a pre-race email with all the details to ensure you are prepared for an eventful morning! If you have any questions do not hesitate to reach out at [email protected].

It's time to get ready for the Fourth of July; with the holiday just a month away, let's get ready for another terrific, hot, and successful year. This year's festival will be a bit different. The Chamber Mixer will kick off on Wednesday night, and the event will begin on July 4th with the walk/run and parade and vendors on Castle Street, fireworks will be held at Lake Siskiyou at dusk.
Street vendors will be there all day Friday and Saturday, as well as live music. Get your dance shoes ready because we have some fantastic music this year. 🎆❤️🤍💙🇺🇸
