J2 Cattle Farm
We are a family farm that raises purebred Reg. Black Angus cattle. We have been utilizing AI breedin
Glad we sowed the dry lot down in crab grass, girls have some better grass with this dry weather.
Figured out a new way for fly control, just hang some fly tape on the panels and somehow hey they figured out how to stick it to their ears 😂
Love going out on Sunday evenings to check cows. keeps my life in balance preparing for the work week ahead…
Passing the batton, first time these kiddos feel comfortable enough to breed on their own. Proud to see them learn something new, and in 21 days, if they stick, let the addiction begin 😂. And when that calf is born, no better feeling of accomplishment. Thanks for a great class Brent Scarlett Will Moss Bryson JohnsonAshton Johnson. I need some help, my left arm can only take so much. 😂
It’s alright boy, tonight you are going to your new home and will be surrounded by ladies… always good to have repeat customers. We try to raise em right to be trouble free. None of us want to sell one bull, we want to sell many over the years…

First time in 20+ years, something other than reg angus on farm. Got a buddy who needed to use that barn to load out his cattle on 18 wheelers…. So told him sure bring em down I’ll help ya out, somethings are more important that $$$. Friends, family and helping out others is just as important. Happy to help em out. Just so happened to work out with the timing, we have all of ours away from this location.
When you live in rocky sorry ground and have to fix a waterline, we line the ditch with cow manure then cover the pipe with it to protect the waterline.
Anyone needing a young bull this year we will be selling this guy after his BSE is completed April 15th. Message me if interested.
I always like to track Marbeling and ribeye area EPD’s all the way to the end product, Genetics matter if you retain ownership till the end product.
Time for 2nd shift…
Cows are fed, animals doing good, now time to help the wife in the greenhouse transplant….
Checking on the baby boys. Their first night away from Mamma… time to start developing bull calves into bulls… Time will tell how they develop.
All these years, first deer shed I have ever found, glad that didn’t get in a tractor tire, looks like I hit it with the discbine
Kuhn Hay Rake GA 4220 Pull type, if anyone is needing a good rake PM me for info. We bought a Vermeer twin rake last year and don’t need this now. Runs great, no issues, field ready. My free labor ( rake man)is going to college in the fall so had to upgrade for a more solo operation 😂
New cattle sorting flags arrived, thanks Tucker Coward for the contact info on where to get. They turned out good.
Today is a first in 20 years on the farm, I broke down and bought a hand-held cattle shocker... this is getting ridiculous, you breed generation over generation for calm cattle, docility, this is what you get.
Always a good sign day after banding and they all are at the troughs like nothing happened. Lidocaine , Meloxicam, Calicrate ba**er, not the cheapest, but best for the animals and they don’t get set back on gaining weight based on our data.
About that time of year getting ready to work calves Saturday
Taking advantage of this dry pattern the Lord blessed us with to put the litter on the ground… late nights…
Just a little carpentry work on Sunday night, fencing is complete, just need to get the barn done before the heifers start calving.
It’s a cold day to be fencing and colder this week but need to get it done.
Merry Christmas Everyone, the ladies still need to be fed, even though it’s Christmas.

Warthog got a new pair of shoes, put em on last night. I switched to a true radial tire like an all Terrain truck tire. Like em so far.. and price was good $127 each.
Everyone likes calm and docile cattle but sometimes it’s a chore to get them to move and work em. I guess I need to invest in a handheld shocker.
Well said, We would like to thank everyone that came out and the support that was given. It was great meeting everyone that came out.
We Didn't Even Buy a Bull! Please note that the FPW community guidelines is to be a positive light and encouragement. Please be kind in the comments and know that any negativity is del...
