There are only a couple spots left. Don't miss your chance! This years Discover Photography Workshop starts in a couple of weeks. Registration closes on Friday April 14. This workshop is special because we focus on your goals (hence why there is limited registration... it will be you and 4-5 others.) Hands on is the best way to learn. Having a community to connect with is too. You can invest in fancy equipment and spend hours learning online. But that still doesn't guarantee you will get your questions answered (in a timely manner or at all) or truly improve your craft. Ten years of photography teaching experience has taught me that in order to grow, you need to push yourself out of your comfort zone. So, are you ready to grow and become the photographer you want t be? I'd love to help you!

Happy 4th of July! I hope everyone has fun today. These pictures are from North Myrtle beach 2019. The day of the 4th and the day after. While fireworks are beautiful and fun and an American tradition, they can also be harmful to wildlife. Birds see the shiny metal pieces and eat them. Other debris litter waterways. Let's have fun and celebrate but also be responsible and clean up.
There are 2 more days left to register for my July workshop! If you’re local to RVA and have been looking for a way to improve your photography and a local group to plug in with (we do Meetup’s, photo challenges, critiques etc.) even after the workshop is done, then this is for you!

Resealia descends the staircase at Currituck Beach in Corolla, Outer Banks, NC. The only unpainted brick lighthouse in the Outer Banks, it stands at 162 feet tall with 220 steps to the top.
If you visit the outer banks of NC and drive north on route 12 you will come to a place where the pavement turns into sand. This is northern Corolla. It's here that people live and vacation on roadways made of sand. There is no pavement in sight, yet this is still a state road. This is also where the wild horses of Corolla cal home. They spend a lot of time in marshes on the sound side of this barrier island. But, if you're lucky you may spot them on the beach escaping the bugs in the marshes.
The Masters of Foxhounds Association located in Middleburg VA is known for their hounds as well as their events, which bring people to the small town in Va. This year they hosted their first annual Dog Daze event; a celebration of the working dog. The event featured demonstrations from groups such as search and rescue, police dogs, retrieving and herding.
This is the last year that Love Ewe Farms in Montpelier VA will be raising lambs. Since retiring for the last several years Betsy and her husband Kevin started raising Romney Sheep. Romney sheep are a hard working breed with a calm temperament. This spring they had a set of twins among several other lambs.

The evolution of the creative process
Hi, I’m Rae! I am a photographer who loves exploring. I am a storyteller, teacher, explorer, wife and dog mom to my amazing beagle mix Hannah. I have a background in studying graphic design, printmaking and photojournalism. These meld together in my work to create a visual narrative in an authentic and artistic way.
I am grateful for what photography brings into my life and the lives of others. I love working with locally in the RVA area as well as overseas with humanitarian organizations. I also love working with youth and currently teach photography at the high school level. A passion of mine is bringing photography to youth who otherwise wouldn’t have a chance to explore this as a means of telling their story. I have been organizing a program called Photo for Purpose in order to accomplish this.
Over the years the creative process within me has evolved and is ever evolving. I look forward to what lies ahead.
