Lubeck Volunteer Fire Department
Serving the citizens of Lubeck and surrounding areas since 1961.
Your LVFD firefighters have had a very busy morning, already being dispatched to five emergencies.
Please stay hydrated, stay inside, find a cool spot, and put off those chores for a cooler day.
Stay safe and have a great Saturday!
Summer evenings in Lubeck
Crews spent the evening training on our second due engine going over basic hose advancement and pump operations.
May 19-25 is National EMS Week. The LVFD has one EMR, eleven EMTs and one Paramedic. We thank these individuals for their contribution to our mission.
Many people question why the fire department responds to medical emergencies. The LVFD is a WVOEMS licensed Basic Life Support Rapid Responder agency. This allows our crews to respond to medical emergencies and provide care prior to and concurrently with Wood County EMS transport agencies.

Lubeck crews trained on drafting from a portable tank this evening simulating establishment of a water supply in areas not having hydrants. We continue to train on skills that are not used often to maintain proficiency in the event they are needed at an emergency.
OPERATION BLUE SKY is this evening.
Gather your friends and family and show your support for our Law Enforcement officers.
OPERATION BLUE SKY 2024
Local law enforcement agencies will once again participate in a blue light procession to honor all officers who made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting the ones they serve.
On Saturday, May 11th, at 8:30pm the procession will start from Marietta and travel to Belpre, Parkersburg, Vienna, and Williamstown in their honor. While in Vienna, the procession will come through on Rt. 14 (Grand Central Ave) from Parkersburg and go north on Grand Central toward Williamstown.
Thank you M.O.V. for the support that you provide our law enforcement. When the officers see people clapping and waiving along the route, it is a great reminder that you stand with us. Thank you!

LVFD crews spent the evening training on firefighter rescue air management. Crews trained in zero visibility simulations using the “buddy breathing” system on SCBAs. Pictured below is a firefighter suppling breathing air from their SCBA to a simulated “downed firefighter”.
Effective August 1, 2024, the Lubeck Volunteer Fire Department will improve to an ISO Class 4 fire department.
ISO Public Protection Classification Program plays an important roll in the underwriting process with insurance companies. Most insurance companies use the ISO Public Protection Program information as part of their decision making when deciding what business to write, coverages to offer, or price to charge for personal or commercial property insurance.

Lubeck crews trained on our new brush fire setup in preparation for the spring fire season.
Our brush truck and second due engine each contain 500’ of 1 1/2” forestry hose and hose packs. The lightweight forestry hose setups allow us to quickly get water on the fire with limited manpower, while limiting fatigue on long duration incidents.
The Wood County Fire School is returning to Wood County, WV on April 13-14, 2024. Course Listings, Registration Information, and details are attached in the below link.
