About Us
Back Home Barn Wood is a custom Furniture Shop owned and operated by Jeff Unruh and his son Jared Unruh. We are located near the small town of Walton in central Kansas.
Growing up in central Kansas there was never a shortage of big barns to explore and play in. Every farm had a barn on the property. Some of our fondest memories were playing in grandpa's barn when the family got together. Words can't be placed on the feelings we got when we stepped into grandpa's majestic old barn! The name Back Home Barn Wood comes from just that... Going back home to the family barn and reliving those memories that we all cherish. Every piece that we build is custom made from one of these amazing barns. We strive to build one of a kind pieces that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy. We want each and every one of our customers to look at our furniture and remember the good ol' days!
These barns are a part of our history and many people these days are clearing them away and burning them to the ground to make way for bigger and better structures. We have made it our mission to save these barns and bring them back as custom works of art.
