Brake Ruminant Nutrition Lab Group
Our lab group focuses on trying to understand what happens to a northbound feed that runs into a southbound ruminant (e.g., cattle, sheep, goat).
Had a great time at ADSA24 in West Palm Beach. Presented data on the effects of high-oleic or conventional soybeans on measures of total-tract nutrient and energy balance in lactating cows. Also, had a chance to look at the ocean on the way back to the airport.
Congratulations Dr. Emily Petzel!
Period 1 is complete. We are currently evaluating nutrient digestion and methane emissions of dairy cattle fed either high oleic or conventional soybeans.
After finishing up an anatomy lab we ran across this thing and thought it might be a good Kodak moment...fun fact did you know that Kodak also once manufactured rumen protected amino acids?
However Kodak did not manufacture this vehicle. That privilege belongs to the great state of Wisconsin.
A little pre-semester fun to gear up for an upcoming study!
Congratulations!!! Dr. Acharya!
Round 2 of our receiving calf study is in full swing
