While the Acropolis is great from the ground our favorite view is from a nearby rooftop restaurant. There’s something magical about seeing the hear of ancient Athens perched on it’s hill at night.

Summer in Santorini 🇬🇷

Let’s talk about Instagram versus reality. Everyone wants their photo with the iconic blue domes in Greece right?

You might imagine if you haven’t been here that most towns in Santorini are filled with blue domes. In reality there are only a few spots in the more popular towns of Oia and Fira where you can find them. You will often see long lines down side streets of people trying to grab the perfect photo, many aren’t even the right photo spot. When people see a line, human nature tells them to get in it and they end up disappointed after waiting 20 minutes to get a less than perfect view. 📷

It’s a big summer of European travel for our Travel Ease team! Advisor Heather Fighter is discovering the charm of Amsterdam with its picturesque canals, vibrant culture, and world-class museums. Riding the rails is without a doubt our favorite way to travel around Europe. It’s often times substantially more affordable than other methods of transportation and more enjoyable. There are however a few tips and tricks we would like to share when utilizing rail in Europe with kids:

1) As Carter demonstrates below rail safety is something to prepare your little ones for. Be sure they know that toes over the yellow line is 👎 and toes behind the yellow line keeps everyone safe 👍. It’s important to always be aware of your surroundings while on the platform.

2) When a train arrives there can be a lot of crowding to enter the train at the same time people are exiting, be sure to hold tight to littles ones so they don’t get lost in the shuffle.

3) Transitions happen very quickly. It’s your responsibility to be on the train before it takes off and often times there’s just a quick chime that alerts you of the doors closing, try to arrive early and be towards the front of the crowds to avoid the potential of missing the train.

4) For longer train rides be sure to pack a snack or activities to keep little ones occupied. Keep in mind that Wi-Fi is typically not very reliable on trains, as a backup download a favorite game or film to devices.

5) Some routes allow you to select seats with your tickets in advance while others are open seating. Upon boarding you may not find seats together, often times if you keep moving further into the train you’ll find seats together.

This famous Portuguese custard tart is best served warm to enhance the warm flaky crust and creamy custard filling.

At Fabrica da Nata you can grab these delicious treats right from the oven and enjoy alongside a sandwich, espresso, or another local delicacy the Codfish Pastry.

DREAMing about a trip to Europe? 🚢

The Disney Dream has made its way across the Atlantic and is now in Europe for a summer full of amazing European itineraries. The best past is, we’ve been onboard for the past 13 days to experience this first hand for our clients.

Last week when we boarded we had 6 sea days ahead of us crossing the Atlantic. We had a port day in the beautiful Azores before making our way to mainland Europe for stops in Lisbon, Portugal and Cádiz, Spain. We then made our way through the Strait of Gibraltar and into the Mediterranean Sea for our final port in Cartagena, Spain. What an adventure it has been! ✨

Seeing this beloved ship in European ports is nothing short of amazing. From sun-kissed Greek Isle sailings to majestic Norwegian Fjords, the Dream has an amazing summer ahead.

A lovely day in Lisbon! 🇵🇹

What a fantastic city to explore in Portugal it’s the perfect combination of beautiful architecture with a little bit of grit. We had a fantastic tuk-tuk tour around the city. It was 2 hours in total and if you know anything about Lisbon it’s very hilly, so this is a great way to easily cover a lot of ground easily in a short amount of time.

We are now on our 6th sea day in a row as we enjoy our transatlantic crossing on the Disney Dream! Disney Cruise Line does such a great job of filling our days with exciting activities for all ages. One of our favorite daily activities has been 𝑨𝒏𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝑪𝒂𝒏 𝑪𝒐𝒐𝒌!
