Having been in the educational field for 18 years as a classroom teacher and instructional coach, I learned that grading and assessment practices have a significant impact on student learning. Providing ways to make that impact positive prompted me to lead professional development for K-12 educators. I am passionate about a shift in practice as I have seen student engagement skyrocket through first hand experience. Learning becomes the focus of the classroom rather than grades, tasks, or scores.
