Rotary’s guest speaker (and fellow Rotarian) for today was Michael Tison, who spoke about he and his wife’s recent trip to the Olympics in Paris. Such an amazing adventure and we appreciate Michael sharing pictures and stories from their trip.

Today we received a visit from the new District 6510 Governor, Robin Dean - accompanied by the Assistant District Governor, Vince Mitchell.

The message for this year is “The Magic of Rotary”. ✨

The District Governor shared her goals and plan for this year. Robin’s main focus is geared towards mental health and drug addiction in our communities. She will also work on projects to benefit Veterans.

The Club also spoke about an interact club within our local high school, and will have more information on this topic in the coming weeks.

Thank you to all of our members who were present today and to Robin and Vince for a great visit.

Welcome to our 2 newest members Susan Sursa and Amy Dixon!

This weeks guest speaker was Larry Clore, board president for the 4 C’s - Christian Community Compassion Center.
Larry spoke on the mission and the people they serve. The 4 C’s also has a fundraiser coming up. August 11th from 1130am-130pm, you can help the 4 C’s food pantry, homeless shelter, and helping hands by purchasing a bbq meal (sandwich, potato salad, baked beans, dessert). This will take place at the Presbyterian Annex Building, located at 21 W Locust St, Harrisburg.

Today at Rotary, we had the pleasure of hearing from Amanda Schmitt, accompanied by Debbie McGowan (Harrisburg Middle School Principal) and Amy Dixon (Harrisburg Unit 3 Superintendent).

Amanda spoke on the NEW class she will be offering to 8th graders at Harrisburg Middle School, beginning in the 2024-25 school year. Career and Technology, with a strong focus on College and Career Exploration. 📚

Amanda is also looking for local businesses to be a location for students to job shadow as well as community work for these amazing students.

Today we officially welcomed our new officers and board members for the 2024-2025 year.

Stacy Hayes Wasson (Jim Hayes Inc) was presented the Past Persident's Gavel for serving as our 2023-2024 president.

We welcomed our new President, Ashley Forcum (Legence Bank) to serve 2024-2025.

We thank Stacy for her time and leadership and look forward to what Ashley has planned for the future of the Harrisburg Rotary Club, as well.
