For Giving Tuesday please consider sending us a donation. We have soo many kitties right now that need extra vetting and lots of supplies. Zoa is also going back in for surgery today. The skin around her hernia is really thin and it didn’t take. So trying a technique involving the surrounding muscles. Even $5 helps us 🙏

Skydancer found his home ❤️

Zoa’s incision 😞 I asked the vet what could cause multiple tears and he said he didn’t know, maybe hit by a car at some point.
The inguinal hernia can be genetic, but she also had another tear, so that’s where the trauma could come into play. Staples come out in two weeks and I’m sure she’ll feel a lot better! Because of the inguinal hernia and having to add on X-rays as well, the bill went to $1,000 instead of $300. We raised a little over $300, let’s keep it going!

Garfield and Odie being adorable. They’re looking for a home together.

Photos from Mother Gaia Animal Rescue's post 07/11/2023

Update** Zoa had a weak abdominal wall and had a few inguinal hernias. This required X-rays and a very large incision and made the cost go up to $1,000. So we could still use help with fundraising for her!! Pics to come.

We haven’t shared pictures of where a group of cats we got in May survived from. But when we said it was a horrible neglect case, this is what we meant. This is just a snippet of the home. Animals died on top of older decayed bodies. Dogs. Cats. You don’t see the bags outside full of bodies. Someone bagged them after they died like trash, to be left outside, forgotten. Then got more animals and put them inside this hell. To give them the same fate.
Zoa survived this. She deserves the best home. But she’s the last of the group to find hers. Is it because she’s fiv positive? It can’t be because she is so friendly. Or gorgeous. I’m not sure why no one has wanted her. But she’s safe and loved while she waits.
Recently Zoa developed a hernia and has surgery to correct it next week. The estimate is around $300 and we could really use the help to cover it 💜

Juliet enjoying reading time 🥰 she’s still looking for her forever home. She came to us last year in September with her kittens. She’s 3 years old and would like a quiet home.

The Amarillo humane society desperately needs kitten formula. The local shelters constantly overflow with animals. Even these kittens had minutes before their last call before I tagged them. If you’d like to help this is the address for amazon,

This cutiepatootie went to the ER last night after taking a tumble off a shelf. He hurt his paw pretty good! He got some meds and X-rays and now we’re waiting to hear if he needs anything more.

19/10/2023

Look how far she’s coming! This is our scaredy girl who needs to see a behavioral veterinarian and needed lots of medications. The exams alone are $500 and she needs them about once a month as we navigate her progress and prescriptions. Today she has been cleared to wean off one of the meds and lower some of the others. She’s such a sweet sweet baby and I’m so happy she’s got an amazing foster who handles her care like a champ.

Atom is 7 months old. He’s learning the ropes quick being around other dogs. His kennel training is coming along and he’s working hard at potty training. Best guess is a chihuahua mix. He’s got such spirit. He’ll always be happy to see you. Snuggling as close as he can get is his forte. He is good with kids, cats and other dogs. Is he the buddy for you?

Tonya Briggs was always there for us. Whether it was keeping goats during the Marshal fire or rushing over a space heater when the cat building’s stopped working, or fostering a bunch of kittens or puppies who had nowhere else to go. There is a huge hole with her absence, felt by all the lives she touched, and especially her family.

This is a link to the gofundme for her husband and 3 young daughters. Please share ♥️

Maggie (aka Bloom) is looking for her people! She is good with dogs, cats, and kids – she desperately wants another playful dog to zoom around with. She is crate-trained and happily goes right in when told! She is fearful of new people, so she needs an experienced, patient human(s) to help her along, and she prefers women over men.

More fun facts about Maggie (Bloom):
- She loves apples, like, a lot!
- She really likes fetch.
- She loves playing with other dogs.
- She does great on car rides.
- She’s super goofy.
- She’s working on leashed walks (hey, it can be scary out there!) and making great progress.
- She’s very proficient in zoomies and butt wiggles!

Zoa is a striking torti with the greenest eyes. She gets along with other cats and is very loving and social. She is fiv positive.
She came from a horrible neglect case. A literal house of horrors where animals were taken off the streets or from shelters and put inside where no one lived or took care of them. They wasted away in the trash and filth. When investigators became aware of the situation and walked through the home, every inch of floor was covered in fur and bones. Even recently deceased animals laid on top of skeletons. Kennels held skeletons, traps held skeletons, trash bags and trash bags held skeletons.
There were some survivors, including Zoa. The photos are horrible and it’s also an active case, or I would share them.
She deserves the world! If you’re interested in fostering or adopting Zoa, apply at mgarcolorado.org.

FOSTER NEEDED: Maggie (fka Bloom) was adopted last December but she was recently returned to us. You see, 1 y/o Maggie (Bloom) is a sweet, goofy, and playful girl wrapped up in a tiny package but she is quite fearful of new humans so she needs someone experienced who can provide her with consistency and continue helping her build her confidence. Her vets believe she might be part Dalmatian, which could explain for these *unique* behavioral needs.

Once she trusts, she trusts and loves very hard. She prefers women but can accept men that work to allow her to slowly become comfortable. She’s good with dogs, fine with cats, and shows absolutely no aggression to any humans or animals. She’s also crate trained and happily goes right in when told! She even sleeps quietly all night in the crate (though, she wouldn’t mind snuggling in bed if you prefer!).

She’s currently seeing a behaviorist to nail down her anti-anxiety medications, which have helped her significantly. She’d LOVE to have another dog-loving pup in the home (who maybe also enjoys not having any personal space) to help show her the way. She also has plenty of energy and would benefit greatly from lots of fun activities like fetch, doggie playtime, and chew toys.
