SCORE Mississippi – Delta Business Journal 08/09/2024

Here is a great article about me.

SCORE Mississippi – Delta Business Journal When the Mississippi SCORE office in Jackson closed in January, Chapter Chair Darleana McHenry, EdD, had an idea. Why not move the office to the Delta, and build services for the poorest area of the state while also expanding coverage throughout Mississippi?

So I was placed in facebook jail for talking about history. It is a sad state of affairs when we can't have a discussion about newspaper articles and learn about the past. When did history became hate speech?

We have to be able to process this. In Mindful Meditation it states that our bodies become ill when we don't process our grief and suffering. How do we teach our children to regulate their emotions when we don't process emotions.

Jul. 20, 2015 | North Carolina Passes Law to Protect Confederate Monuments 20/07/2023

A History Lesson. The Confederates lost the war because they committed treason against the United States of America. Most of the Confederate Memorials were commissioned by private groups and maintained by state and federal tax dollars. Why should American citizens be forced to maintain statues and memorials for traitors. Why not put all the memorials in a private museum sponsored by the people who commissioned them and paid for by the people who want to see them? These men did not serve the United States, they served themselves. Some of them didn't do a good job at that but had families who had money from the labor of African Americans.

Jul. 19, 1919 | White Mob Terrorizes Black D.C. Residents in Red Summer Rampage 19/07/2023

In order to stir up racial hatred, there were often accusations that a Black man had looked at a white woman inappropriately or wasn't polite enough. The greatest tragedy is that Black men who sought economic security were targeted, beaten, killed and their property taken. Tax paying law abiding citizens were terrorized for daring to pursue the American dream. How has this terrorism impacted current generations?

May 11, 1926 | White Mob in Florida Lynches Black Man for Requesting Drink of Water 11/05/2023

I keep sharing these stories because these are the stories that State legislatures do not want our children to know. We have to understand that when this man was shot and lynched, it didn't just impact him and his family for the next 5 generations. It impacted and entire country. One group felt entitled to take the life of someone whom they felt to be inferior. One group lived in fear that they or their loved one would be next and distorted their behavior accordingly.
