Storm Trysail Club Ted Hood Regatta

Day 1 of the Ted Hood Regatta in the books. Handicap boats and J/105 got in two races in challenging conditions. Thank you to EYC RC. Tomorrow all boats out racing with good weather forecasted.

Good news the PayPal issue has been resolved. All systems now working. Registration is open.

Ted Hood Sailors. The early bird registration is open until July 30th. Take advantage. Currently we are experiencing PayPal issues processing the payments. We are working to correct that. In meantime please register and we will catch up for the payments.

Breaking news the long delayed Ted Hood Regatta NOR is now posted in YachtScoring!! The event is live and open for registration. This year we are offering an Early Bird Discount up to July July 15th. Spinnaker and Jib & Main $8/ft, J/70 and Viper 640 flat $200. Please join the fun. Happy July 4th to all!

The Eastern YC will be hosting an Handicap/Offshore sailing kick off party this Friday May 26th in the sailing center. The party kicks off at 6:00 PM. The cost is $20 there will appetizers and a cash bar. There also be raffle prizes. Please join the group to kick-off the sailing season. Contact the EYC at 781-631-1400 for tickets.

The rating discussion meeting Zoom link has now been created. The calendar invite and link have been sent to Mass Bay and NE PHRF to distribute to their members. In addition I have an email being sent to the people who emailed me confirming their attendance via email. Good Morning from the Ted Hood Regatta Race Committee. The SI’s have just been posted to YachtScoring. We have 31 boats sailing and it’s not to late to join the fun. Registration open until 1900 hrs tonight.

The Ted Hood Race Committee has changed the regatta to a 2-Day event being sailed on Sat & Sun. The change was made due to smaller amount of participants. The registration & skippers meeting is Friday. NOR Amendment # 1 with revised schedule will be posted today.

Happy Sunday Sailors. We happy to announce that the 2022 Ted Hood Regatta’s NOR’s are posted on YachtScoring!! The regatta will be August 19th - 21st hosted by Eastern YC and supported with Boston YC, and Corinthian YC. Racing will be PHRF, ORC, and One Design. We welcome any early registrations. Happy Sunday Funday from the THR Race Committee! A couple of important announcements. First NOR Amendment #1 has been posted. This amendment changes JAM class to a 2 day regatta sailing Saturday & Sunday. The cost is $8/ft and gives captain and full crew access to the tent all three days. The 2nd part of the amendment clarifies the schedule for J/70’s racing Saturday & Sunday only.

The THR has also deleted any late fees. However cutoff date for signing up remains in effect as per the NOR. Please register as soon as possible.

Happy Sunday from the Ted Hood Regatta Committee. Folks we are 26 days from the start of the regatta, and we only have 14 boats signed up in YachtScoring as of today. The regatta will have 3 days of racing which takes a lot planning, advance work and expenses. If you are planning on racing the committee would greatly appreciate it if you could register as soon as possible so apprioate awards, food, beverage, and entertainment can be planned and budgeted for. The Ted Hood Regatta Committee has posted the NOR on YachtScoring for the 2021 THR Regatta host by Eastern YC. The dates are Aug 20th-22nd. The racing will include a double handed and full crewed over night race Friday, one design, and handicap racing. This years Handicap racing will be doulble scored under PHRF and ORRez ratings. We welcome Rumson Rum as our new rum sponsor and East Regiment Beer Company as our beer sponsor.
