Yesterday two of our Carlisle Band seniors, Melissa Alvarez and Karolyne Estrada travelled to Austin for the Texas/Kansas game. They joined the Longhorn Band as Sideline Crew members for the day and sat with the band in the stands and watched the game day rehearsal process. During this visit they were able to experience what performing in Division 1 college band is like and also met the directors, students, and drum major in the band.
There are so many opportunities for our students after their time in our program to be able to confuse playing their instrument and seeing really cool places!
We will have an opportunity in November for any student 9th-12th to experience the Tyler Junior College Band and join them in the stands to play at the game. Check with the band directors for more information on that opportunity!
