89.1 KCLC is St. Louis' home for music lovers. KCLC is located on the campus of Lindenwood Universt Mrs. In 1948 KCLC-AM went on air serving the Lindenwood campus.
In 1948 Martha Boyer was authorized to purchase six cash registers to teach the young ladies of Lindenwood College a practical skill. Boyer had other ideas... She knew that mass communication was the future and purchased a 1 watt transmitter. In those days we played an eclectic format of waltzes and crooners.
