Jon Smith's Voyages started out as a One Man Band with the 2016 album ‘Indeed' which featured Jon playing all instruments (from piano, guitar, bass, and drums, to trumpet, clarinet, flute, and TONS of vocal harmonies)!

Since then, Jon has recruited a full touring band to take these “theatrical-pop” songs onto the stage, as well as add to his repertoire with even more adventurous original compositions and covers!

Songwriters getting a HAPPY NEW YEAR with a huge rate increase for MECHANICAL ROYALTIES - our first in over a decade for physical products like vinyl, cds, ringtones, and digital downloads, and the first ever increase that factors in an annual cost of living rate increase!!! The mechanicals for streaming are also going up!

Per the Copyright Royalty Board announcement on 12/30/2022: (see crb.gov for full announcement)

"The rates for a physical phonorecord or permanent download have increased to 12 cents per track or 2.31 cents per minute of playing time or fraction thereof, for 2023, and include inflation-based adjustments for subsequent years of the rate period.

The headline royalty rate for most other digital phonorecords, including interactive streams, will be set at 15.1 to 15.35 percent of revenue, over the five-year term. Other significant components of the rate formulae for digital phonorecords, which serve as alternatives to the percent of revenue rates, also increased, including the per-subscriber minimums and the percentage of “Total Content Cost (TCC)” calculations referencing amounts that music service licensees pay to record labels."

Well deserved honor for this amazing singer/songwriter!

BREAKING NEWS!

Before the end of this month, Bret Michaels will return to Central PA to be inducted into the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall of Fame (CPMHOF).

While Bret’s band Poison was inducted into the CPMHOF in 2020, Bret is now being honored for his solo work as a singer/songwriter. Bret’s induction ceremony and press junket will be a private event at an undisclosed location. Attendance will be limited to invitations only.

Brandon Valentine, president and founder of the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall of Fame, said: “Bret Michaels has always been a pillar of our local music scene. In the early 1980’s Bret’s band was based out of Mechanicsburg, and they frequently performed at some the area's biggest venues like The Metron in Harrisburg, PA. When Poison returned to Hersheypark Stadium this past summer, local fans poured out in droves, and the band brought the house down.

Bret’s vocals and stage presence have always shined with Poison, but he’s accomplished some major feats as a solo artist and with the Bret Michaels Band. Not to mention, his philanthropic efforts (with veterans and the diabetic community) show that his heart is just as big as his on-stage charisma.”

Aside from celebrating Bret’s past accomplishments, Bret will also be announcing his 2023 Parti-Gras Tour, which includes a return to the mid-state.

Bret is thrilled to be able to accept this honor in person, and he can’t wait to “Parti” with the people of Pennsylvania in 2023!
