The signs are everywhere, if you're looking for them...

Came to Believe Recovery Northern California Retreat We are a group of men and women who have recovered from a variety of addictions including drugs and alcohol. We are committed to helping others break free from their addictions. We are hosting a 3 day retreat the weekend of May 3rd 2023 where attendees will take all the steps in a weekend!

When I learned that God is real and I was a fraud, everything changed!

Happy, joyous, and free are the benefits of carrying the 12 step message given to us by the founders and I cherish it!

The four absolutes of honesty, purity, unselfishness, and love, are God's standards for successful living! When we know the truth, the truth makes us free!

Step 10 is a vital part of everyday when you are Recovered! This month we will be having Wellness Wednesday's. Every Wednesday we will post questions that you can ask yourself each week to help you with your personal inventory!

When we sincerely took such a position, all sorts of remarkable things followed. We had a new Employer. Being all powerful, He provided what we needed, if we kept close to Him and performed His work well. Established on such a footing we became less and less interested in ourselves, our little plans and designs. More and more we became interested in seeing what we could contribute to life. As we felt new power flow in, as we enjoyed peace of mind, as we discovered we could face life successfully, as we became conscious of His presence, we began to lose our fear of today, tomorrow or the hereafter. We were reborn.

We were now at Step Three. Many of us said to our Maker, as we understood Him: "God, I offer myself to Thee-to build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bo***ge of self, that I may better do Thy will. Take away my difficulties, that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of life. May I do Thy will always!" We thought well before taking this step making sure we were ready; that we could at last abandon ourselves utterly to Him.

We found it very desirable to take this spiritual step with an understanding person, such as our wife, best friend or spiritual adviser. But it is better to meet God alone than with one who might misunderstand. The wording was, of course, quite optional so long as we expressed the idea, voicing it without reservation. This was only a beginning, though if honestly and humbly made, an effect, sometimes a very great one, was felt at once.

That daily inventory is a vital step which removes the things blocking us from God (step 10), as is daily improvement of our conscious contact through talking and listening to God(step 11), as is sharing with others what we are given by God(step 12). It works - it really does!

Steps 10, 11, 12 together embrace what we call Living in the Go! By continuing your personal inventory each day, connecting with your spirituality daily, and using your new found freedom to help spread the message and serve others, you too can live in the go!!!

Step12 emphasizes practicing the twelve step principles in 'all our affairs'. What does this look like in your life?

We need to find our own ways to connect with our higher power. Some of us have apps that give us daily versus to read, others have a stack of books next to our beds to read when we wake. It is imperative to continue to develop your understanding of God and continue to grow.
How do you connect each day?

I make the daily inventory because God says I am worthy of being happy, joyous, and free! So are you!

"This step is a daily check on ourselves, and I guarantee you, if a person has taken his Nine Steps, and if he conscientiously takes his Tenth Step every night before he goes to sleep, he will never, never get drunk. It is not the big things that happen to us in life that cause us to get drunk. We get drunk because we neglect our Tenth, Eleventh, and Twelfth Step work. Our values change. If we watch the little things we do, day by day, we are going to be all right.” Clarence Synder from the Legacy Guide Workbook pg 56

How did you feel after Step 4?

Once we have taken this step, withholding nothing, we are delighted. The feeling that the drink problem has disappeared will often come strongly.
