Meet Ms. Josephine Hampton.
The mother of two has been proudly preparing nutritious and tasty meals for our students roughly 30 years.
During the school year, she arrives to work at Oakhurst each day at 6:00 in the morning, where she cooks, cleans, and makes sure scholars are ready to learn.
Although the school year is officially over, Hampton is busy this summer serving students participating in the free feeding program.
She began cooking at age 12 and never looked back. Her mom, Ms. Gennie Hampton, 93, was her inspiration.
When asked what she enjoys most about her job and cooking for our kids, Hampton quickly responded, โeverything!โ
From all of us at Clarksdale Municipal School District, thank you Ms. Hampton for your tireless commitment to our students, community, and schools.

As the academic year wraps up for the CHS Class of 2024, a select group of seniors took part in the first-ever Wildcat Senior Success Seminar.
In a recent session, Dr. Eurmon Hervey engaged with the students, sharing insights about his own journey from high school to college. He touched on various subjects, including the difference between being dependent and independent, understanding supply and demand, the distinction between being a creator or a consumer, and the concept of "tell versus told".
His pearls of wisdom resonated with those present. We are grateful to our Wildcat alumni, like Dr. Hervey, for returning to their alma mater and imparting their knowledge to us.
Our seniors were stunning Saturday night for prom!
Special thanks to the Prom Squad for the decor and food.
Up next, graduation!
