~Meditation Tip~
The Elevator:
👉Start standing tall with feet & legs squeezed together.
👉🏻Sit back with hips/pelvis as if sitting in a chair, “Chair Pose” in yoga.
👉🏼Hands and arms in prayer position either in front of heart space or overhead with long arms aligned next to the ears.
👉🏽Slowly lower your body down as you lift heels off the floor to be in a squat position, keeping legs tightly squeezed together.
👉🏾For an adult, only go as low as comfortable for your knees and back. For children and teens, this is easier.
👉🏿Then, rise back up to standing. Repeat this movement imagining you are an elevator. Rising up to the penthouse and descending to the basement, stopping at different floors along the way to challenge your balance and groundedness.
😌Keep the breath flowing.

Checking-in is a tool we focus on with anyone we work with. Taking stock of your being in the present moment and learning how to tap into what your body needs or is trying to tell you, has benefits that reach far beyond the classroom or yoga practice. 😌
This foundation for mindfulness is a skill that can be built and will allow you to show up in your life more in-tune with your whole self. Who wouldn’t want that?? Here’s how you can practice:
Before any activity change, (starting the car, beginning a household project, enjoying a meal, composing a text) focus the mind while taking 3 deep, full breaths.
Before exiting the car, (completing the chosen task) take another 3 deep, cleansing breaths.
Ah. Now you’re owning the moment.

Our Story
CALMING KIDS trains educators and youth professionals to implement our research-based, award winning bully-proofing program for pre-school through high-school students.
The concepts presented in the program are kindness, compassion, and communication combined with moving energy at a high level of body and breathing awareness. The classes incorporate discussions on yogic philosophy regarding non-violence, anatomy of breathing, yoga postures for strength and flexibility, concentration techniques and relaxation training to help release excess energy and anxiety. Along with conflict resolution strategies and role playing activities. CALMING KIDS: Creating a Non-Violent World helps to exercise the physical body, relax and calm the mind to control anger and manage stress for a happy, healthy, peaceful child.
