On Valentine’s Day, we’re giving a shout out to all the elopement couples. 💍 Daniel photographed Katie and Jordan’s courthouse wedding, and these two were just the coolest, most relaxed, happy in love couple.

Last year, I (Daniel) received the invitation to contribute my photography to an exciting new project from All Classical titled The All Classical Artist Anthology: 40 Creatives of the Pacific Northwest. This curated collection spotlights 40 trailblazing artists across diverse mediums — music, painting, sculpture, poetry, dance and more. Each artist is paired with a photographer and a writer to create a piece for the anthology that captures both their story and their art form.

The online release of this book has begun with a different artist being showcased each week via the All Classical website. And sometime this year, a limited-edition coffee table book will be published. The book promises to be a visual and literary journey through the heart of contemporary PNW artists.

I worked with 3 different artists and it was so exciting to bring my vision to this collaborative endeavor. I loved spending time with each individual, learning about their process and capturing a small part of the magic they create.

Today I am sharing my images of Portland based poet, Kim Stafford. Kim was generous to invite me into his unique studio in his backyard. As I stepped into his creative sanctuary, I couldn't help but feel the weight of capturing the essence of someone who dedicates his life to raising the human spirit through poetry. Kim’s wisdom and creativity permeated the air, and every corner of his studio seemed to hold a story waiting to be told. Kim was warm, welcoming and posed so well for the camera while also appearing relaxed in his element.

Thank you to Rebecca Richardson, the project organizer, for putting this together and for asking me to be a part of it. Thank you Kim for your generosity during our shoot.

Happy 2024! We are really (reaaaallly) bad at “year end” posts, reels, and just posting on Instagram in general...seriously how do the kids keep up with this thing?! 👵🏼👴🏻😂 But let’s just say that 2023 was a fun, productive, fruitful year both personally and professionally, and we are hoping that 2024 brings more of the same.

Sharing a little something different today…our dear friend Brooke from wrote another book! And of course it’s amazing.

Daniel photographed her book signing at in December and spent some quality time with Brooke and . He went old school, shot in all black & white and in “fly on the wall” mode. These photos remind me of our dark room photography days, back when we first met. Only now it’s quicker and a heck of a lot easier to process!

We spent an incredible 10 hours photographing these two last Saturday and set a new record for the amount of photos we’ve ever taken in one wedding day. We began with their intimate ceremony aboard the , trekked to for portraits and ended with an epic party at Alana & Sean’s home. The love and positive energy present was magnetic, and what an honor it was to capture it all.
