Today, we finished a beautiful new screened in porch on this Lakewood, IL estate.
The project involved replacing all of the timber below the upper deck which originally had a polystyrene knee wall with 4x4 untreated lumber.
We tore out the existing 1st floor facade including all of the 4x4 construction. Screens, door and knee wall down to the footings. While the upper deck was supported with Jack's.
We reconstructed the knee wall and all 4x4 timber with pressure treated lumber and then decided to add stone veneer. The rest is as expected.
