Congratulations to our undergraduate Outreach Assistant, Tim Twoax Porter, who took home TWO awards at last month's CSU Multicultural Undergraduate Research Art and Leadership Symposium (MURALS)! "My dear colleagues, with deep sadness, the HICAHS team shares that our friend, colleague, and mentor, Dr. Stephen Reynolds, passed away on January 31, 2024. We will provide an opportunity for you to share your tributes for Steve's family later, but we wanted to get the news to you. A celebration of Steve's life is being planned for later in 2024. Last month, HICAHS collaborator Dr. Sheryl Magzamen was part of School of Global Environmental Sustainability- Colorado State University's delegation to COP28 - the UN Climate Change Conference. Among the work highlighted at the CSU exhibit was HICAHS-funded research to understand the risks of extreme weather, heat, and air quality on agricultural worker health. 👏👏
A peak back at a few of our top moments of 2023! We hope to have this much joy in our work and collaborations in 2024. A big thank you to all our collaborators, but some key ones this year included Colorado AgrAbility Project, CSU College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences/CSU Spur ‘Sci on the Fly’, Colorado Environmental Pesticide Education Program, and the Northern Area Migrant Coalition.

Last month our Director, Dr. Lorann Stallones, traveled to Ireland to participate in the “BeSafe - International Farm Safety and Farm Health Conference”. Highlights of this international collaboration included trips to Teagasc’s Research Centres and robust discussion of how to support mental health in farming and rural communities.
Hundreds of Colorado State Fair visitors are now ✨farm safety smart✨ after visiting with us this weekend at the CSU College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and CSU Spur 'Sci on the Fly' mobile outreach lab.
