Mindfull Yoga
My practice and teaching is multidimensional. Meaning, I don’t just move my body in weird shapes,
“Seen from space, the Earth has no borders. The spread of the coronavirus is showing us that what we share is much more powerful than what keeps us apart, for better or for worse. All people are inescapably interconnected, and the more we can come together to solve our problems, the better off we will all be.”

Some of you may know that I recently became an End of Life Doula or Death Doula. This absolutely gut wrenching and yet beautiful time in everyone’s life should not be shameful in any way. We are all going to die.
I continually talk about death and dying as a life event like marriage. A wedding takes planning, forethought, financial decisions, and family/friends are involved through it all. Dying as a life event is no different. Not only do you need a will for once you have died. But what about all the decisions that may need to be made up until that point if you are unable?
Food for thought today. How do you talk about death and dying? Do you talk about it at all?
Please feel free to reach out to me for any type of support you may need in this arena. Whether it’s for you, a loved one, or maybe even a stranger. I may not always have the answer but I will always work to find it for you and with you.

Enough of the euphemisms. Let’s talk about death openly and honestly | Kathryn Mannix We no longer feel comfortable naming death, and we’ve forgotten how to support the dying and bereaved, says palliative care physician Kathryn Mannix
“When a woman is dismissed as being “too busy,” it is usually because she spends her time in ways that advance her career or doing things and being with people who energize her.”
This is an amazing little read for all of us that are "too busy" and feeling constant guilt over it.

The way that we get alternative therapies/medicine into the "real" medical world is through studies. Studies funded by insurance companies who pay for these therapies. So, this is a big deal! On top of the fact that it happens to be through Beaumont where I am fortunate enough to study and learn with some of the most amazing Yoga Therapists around.
So thankful to be on this path to bring these healing practices to these populations who need it most.
As always, if you have questions, drop me a line!

Yoga Therapy can help people be involved in their own healing When you think of yoga, you might envision a hot, packed room full of sweaty yogis striking gravity-defying poses. But – depending on what ails you – the practice can also be modified to help you heal.

Recycling is a business, not a charity and many of us have viewed it as a charity for so long. Now, that is coming to an end.”
Is This the End of Recycling?– Pela Case When you think about living a more eco-friendly lifestyle, what's the first thing that comes to mind? Is it bringing your own bags to the grocery store? Maybe a reusable water bottle? Or maybe it's recycling. I feel like recycling has been DRILLED into our brains from the moment we get to elementary...

This Old Man’s Advice About Dealing With Death Has Been Called ‘The Best Internet Comment Of All Time’ This is somehow both heartbreaking and inspirational.
The more that I think about Christmas this year... the more I want time. Time dedicated to conversation, laughter, and memories. I have no need for anything materialistic, our house doesn't need any more stuff. My heart and my soul need quality time with those people who matter most.
Time is our most valuable resource and our most precious gift.
The Best Present Is Presence | The Minimalists What if you could have only one Christmas present this year, what would it be? The answer for us is simple...
Come out this Thursday for Yoga & Wine. All proceeds/donations in the month of December go to this amazingly strong family.
Take time during the holiday season for self care, and know that while you're relaxing with yoga and wine, you are also doing a good deed!
I'm starting to see and hear about gifts and wrapping and seeing the growing piles of junk at stores.
Please try not to purchase wrapping paper this year. It is generally not recyclable due to being laminated. coated, glittered, etc etc.. So, that paper just ends up in a plastic bag in a landfill. Wouldn't it be better to wrap your presents in part of the present? like a scarf? Or having your kids decorate their own paper bags for you to wrap their presents in.. There are so many creative ways to keep junk out of landfills, and more money in your pockets, or for more presents!
If you need help brainstorming creative ways to wrap something, please reach out! I would love to help!
