ForeverMeow is a 501(c)(3) rescue whose mission is to help bring veterinary care to homeless cats. ForeverMeow is grateful to be one of those groups.
ForeverMeow wishes to thank the Hyla Marrow Trust for a grant to establish The Hyla Marrow Memorial Fund for Veterinary Care of Homeless Cats. Hyla Marrow (1950 – 2016)

At what age should kittens be spayed and neutered? The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) says no later than 5 months - and we agree!
We teach our vet students to spay and neuter at around 8 weeks/2 pounds. That assures they will never contribute to the overpopulation of cats,
From the AVMA: Recommendations for feline patients
The AVMA endorses the consensus document put forth by the Veterinary Task Force on Feline Sterilization for Age of Spay and Neuter Surgery, which recommends cats not intended for breeding be gonadectomized by five months of age. The document represents a clear and evidence-based position that promotes individual animal health, contributes to effective population control, and can be communicated clearly to clients. It has broad support among veterinary medical and cat breeding associations, having also been endorsed by the American Association of Feline Practitioners, Association of Shelter Veterinarians, American Animal Hospital Association, Winn Foundation, Catalyst Council, Cat Fancier’s Association, and The International Cat Association.""

Are you looking for a furry friend to brighten your days? Sweet Pea is back on the market!
This affectionate, spunky girl spent the last 8 years of her life with her human "best friend", accustomed to being an only spoiled girl. Sadly, her owner moved into a senior living situation and was no longer capable of caring for her. Heartbreaking for all involved.
Sweet Pea is still the active, social cat we remember from when she was 1 year old. We have completed a full exam and diagnostic panel to ensure she is healthy and ready to move on to her next chapter.
If you want to meet this cutie with a bucket load of personality, please complete the adoption form at www.forevermeow.org

Meet Tinkerbell, a sweet and sociable 10-year-old female tabby cat who is looking for a new loving home. Tinkerbell's owner passed away, and she is in need of a new family to give her the love and care she deserves.
Tinkerbell was previously front declawed, but this has not affected her physical or behavioral well-being in any way. She is a friendly and affectionate cat who loves attention and cuddles. Despite her age, Tinkerbell is still full of energy and enjoys playing and exploring her surroundings.
If you are interested in meeting Tinkerbell and potentially giving her a forever home, please don't hesitate to inquire. She would make a wonderful addition to any household and is sure to bring joy and companionship to her new family.

We, along with many others, have lobbied for compulsory microchipping for pet cats, and we are thrilled this has become law in England today! Microchipping your cat gives them the best chance of being returned home to you if they were ever to go missing. Learn more: http://spr.ly/Microchipping

Feline Fact Friday ... Please do not take healthy kittens from their mother if under 5/6 weeks.
If you find a litter of healthy young kittens outside - (under a bush, deck, or in a shed) - please leave them alone. Mom will be back soon to take care of them.
Kitten-napping with the intention of bringing the babies to the local shelter can end in euthanization as there aren't enough bottle-feeding volunteers, and those that are available are likely already overwhelmed with truly abandoned or ill kittens. Unfortunately, without resources, the shelter will have no choice.
We can't say it enough; the best place for a healthy neonatal kitten is with its mom!
Once the kittens have learned to eat on their own, they can be taken to rescue, and mom cat can be TNRed and/or adopted. Until then, please leave the kittens be!
❗️If a rescue/shelter/foster isn't available for kittens over 8 weeks and they must remain community cats, PLEASE make sure to get them fixed and vaccinated between 3 & 4 months of age so the breeding cycle ends. Kittens can start getting pregnant at 4 months.

Our Story
Our mission is to support municipal shelters to help reduce and eliminate the unnecessary euthanasia of cats in the shelter.
To achieve this, our priority is to rescue cats and kittens, who are facing the risk of potential euthanasia. Since our inception, we have saved over 1,000 cats.
We have a policy of always honoring adoption returns (owner surrender of cats adopted from ForeverMeow), however, we do not have the capacity to assist the general public in taking owner surrenders. If you wish to rehome a cat, we suggest first checking with the adoption agency where you adopted the cat and/or using Adopt A Pet’s rehome a pet website at: https://rehome.adoptapet.com/
Please note, we currently have limited ability to field questions from the public to provide advice and assistance. Please check out our frequently asked questions page on our website at: http://forevermeow.org/index.php?page=help
We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, so donations may be tax deductible to you.
