From his original post- “So, add another job to my list! Haha. I recently started working Saturday nights at a friend's Tap Room that he took over ownership. With the recent and sudden passing of my friend, Jacob Madril on Thanksgiving Day, I figured I could put my next shift this Saturday to good use!

Maui Brewing decided to start the Kōkua project; one beer, brewed by many, to support the Maui ‘Ohana who have been affected by this tragedy.

Our version of Kōkua is a crispy west coast style session IPA with a dry-hop of Centennial and Idaho 7. The aroma kicks off huge notes of pine, citrus, and subtle pineapple. Flavor is heavy with resinous pine, grapefruit, citrus zest, and just a splash of tropical all wrapped up in a lasting bitterness.
