> Folks have been asking and yes, the Main Street bridge project is coming along nicely, and despite a rebar backorder and a few other this and thats, it is looking to be completed shortly. Since it's a bridge and all, we're a mix of "hustle up!", but mostly "Take your time, quality first!". Safety first!

> Lynden Chamber of Commerce member Simon Sefzik, current State Senator and candiate for said seat, would like to remind everyone to get that ballot filled out and sent back to whence it came BEFORE November 8th! We greatly appreciate Simon joining the Chamber and supporting the Lynden community and events, and wish him all the best in the days ahead!
That doesn't mean we aren't wishing others the best, but a person who puts some $$ into the community gets a shout-out, but please note no candidate approved this message nor knew it was coming, because, well, that would require planning ahead on our part...

> Seriously, we don't endorse candidates, never have in almost 100 years. We've met most of the folks running this year, on both "sides", which it really is unfortunate we have to say "sides", BUT they all seem genuinely concerned about the people around these parts, they just have different thoughts on what some issues and solutions are, and what challenges should be addressed first. It takes courage to run, and no matter what they say, the nasty stuff that gets so casually tossed about stings the heart a bit. One doesn't could used to "it", nor should they. How sensitive to the needs of others would someone who's "used to it" really be?
And the ol' "Well it's politics" is a lame excuse for being the east end of a west bound horse. Some of those political types, especially from the "other Washington" need to understand that they are currently reaping the crop that they themselves have sown. So get off the cable shows, get into the communities you represent, love on everyone, and join your local Chamber.
