Grateful for the love and support the album has received and this may be a bad move but I’m not running for any popularity contest.

I had a lot of folks asking for this one…Truth is I didn’t want it on the album, I don’t like playing it out live anymore but at the same time I’m grateful so many folks love it and connect with it. I remember vividly the first time I played it in public and how it effected everyone.

To me art is purposefully intentional, this is intentional because of what day it is.

If you’re lucky enough to have your old man around, tell ‘em you love him, tell ‘em to kiss your ass. Just reach out, you may never get a chance to do so again.

Artist Spotlight: Dave Shoemaker

Powerful. Emotive. Moving. These are just a few words to describe Middlesboro, KY based artist Dave Shoemaker. Dave, who is also one of the founding members behind Laurel Cove Music Festival, has been a fixture in our music community for years. He blends elements of folk and rock with deeply personal lyrics and a raw and intense live show. Known for ‘leaving it all on the stage’, Dave Shoemaker is the prime example of how to be a working man’s songwriter. His music and style are heavily influenced by music bore here in the mountains of southern Appalachia, mixed with the sonic discoveries of his youth.

Dave has been steadily touring throughout the region and playing some of the most notable venues out there. Lately, he has been performing with Seth “Cello” Murphy on occasion, and it has added a completely new dimension to Dave’s music. Dave will be headlining Friday night on the Creekside stage and has a special announcement about the show coming soon! Don’t miss his set, it’s going to be spectacular.
