High Tails Animal Sanctuary

One of our superstars this past weekend was this young lady who chose to adopt a senior dog (with total consent and in cooperation with her family! ) She chose Bumpkin over all our other dogs and puppies to make her new best friend and you can see how happy everyone is because of her big heart! We are so, so proud of her decision and we definitely need more young people like this in the world !!

At 13 weeks old these three classics are looking for a forever home . Their names are Bently, Royce, and Coup and they will need a little polishing as they are still puppies but ultimately will shine so bright with a loving family . We expect them to be large dogs when full grown.

Just one look is all it took for this young couple to find the perfect dog for their female heeler mix as a buddy. They did an overnight foster to see how it would work out and they reported that the WWF (world wrestling federation) was no match for the play wrestling in their home that night and everyone was a winner and worn out! We are so happy they adopted Maxwell (on your right) who will never be lonely again !

This beautiful cat bed is a 4 year old house trained, air condition conditioned , child friendly boy and is available for adoption this weekend at Petsmart in Washington Missouri.
He is well behaved and loves being around people. He would look marvelous in your family room, as he is a neutral color , and your cats will be so comfortable! His designer name is Owen!

Kitten Update: Now we know who is really in charge of the household and it is not the mastiff! Little Holt is holding his own claiming the most coveted bed in the household. So happy he is finding his place in the world. He will be available for adoption when old enough.

An anonymous artisan has been so very crafty and crocheted these beautiful cat and dog beds for our sanctuary. We are so thankful for all of the love and time that was involved in this kind and generous gift.

From stealing the couch to stealing her heart....that is what Sadie has done to her new mom who wouldn't have it any other way!

Ozzy ooozes charm to the point that he catches all of the best girls and these two are no exception. How can other dogs even stand a chance against his savoir faire that is everywhere? Well done Monsieur Ozzy! We are so glad you found your home!!

He was raised in a loving senior home yet , as a result of a family health emergency he needs another loving place to land. He is friendly and affectionate and will be at Petsmart this Saturday. Little Sadie is available for adoption weighing in at about 20 # and is as soft as silk! She may be a nova Scotia duck trolling retriever/king charles spaniel mix and is very friendly, great with children , and is house trained. She is a beautiful soul in a beautiful dog at about 6 years of age.

We are so grateful that Honey has found this lovely family to adopt as her own. She was instantly welcomed as a forever family member and has a job as great protector of small and tall humans. This is absolutely right where she has always wanted to bee🐝!

Wow, this is what you get when your shopping list only included crickets and a birthday cake for your son! We love how she knows exactly the perfect addition to her list that will brighten everyone's day forever! Thanks to her and her family from the HTAS staff for giving these two puppies a wonderful home.

Love at first site! This prescious little kitten was rescued from traffic and then hid out in some boulders to eventually be rescued by one of our volunteers last week. We immediately took her to the veterinarian office and while there this happy customer fell in love. We could not have made a better match and the timing was perfect!!

Little Holt is thriving in his foster home after his pneumonia scare. His foster mom has worked so hard to keep him improving every day and he has had his first check up at Franklin County Animal Medical Center and vaccines. We know you've worried over him with us and we wanted to share the good news!! Hurrah for Holt!

Von has found two amazing people to adore him! You see, he really needs to know that you know that there is no cat more important than he is , and just in case you didn't know , he will stare you in the face to make his point. I'm sure these two ladies get that point by now😂.

With the help of some campers on vacation these two adorable seniors were rescued today from this abandoned house where they were "shacking up" . "Pal" is a very friendly male beagle lab mix at 8 years old and "Bumpkin" is an 11 year old Pyranese female who adores small children. Both would be perfect for a low energy household and are calm and happy.

Hang on little guy!!! This 4 week old kitten was left dumped in a plastic bag with his sibling about a week ago and a devoted foster family ageed to take them in. His sibling quickly failed in health and passed away and yesterday this little guy caught pneumonia. We started him on antibiotics and he made it through the night. His little airways are just so tiny and the congestion is so much that the foster mom walks around holding him constantly to help him breathe better. That is true devotion!

These two have matching smiles to start their lives together PLUS, as a bonus, Grace gets a new dog friend to play with all day long! Adoptions like this make us smile too!

We only have one kitten left and he is getting all our attention while we watch the Olympics tonight. His name is Von and in our book he is solid Gold!🥇He is friendly, affectionate, curious, and loves to be petted. He will be at Petsmart tomorrow from 11-3pm

These two adoptions made our hearts explode💗! Gabe on your right has been in the sanctuary for 4 years just waiting for the right person to choose him over all others. This is that beautiful person. Her co worker took her lead and the adopted Artemesia on your left who has been with us for 5 months. We never loose hope that our dogs will find their forever home!!

Meet Maxwell, a happy, goofy 10 month old mix male. He is house trained and loves to play ball and in the water and with other dogs. He is passive and likes children and is not cat aggressive. He has the body of a doberman and the personality of an affectionate hound. The best of both worlds!! He was saved from a euthanasia list by a very kind lady who was willing to foster him until we could bring him to the sanctuary. Her kindness saved a deserving life.

She's as sweet as Tupelo Honey, and that is her name! She is 8 years old and was raised around 6 children and is so calm and patient. She would make an amazing comfort dog for a retired couple or nanny for timid children. She is low energy and loves to be with people. She will be at Petsmart tomorrow from 11-3 in Washington MO.

Baby is having a ball in foster care and goes to the dog park every day to play. She is really happy all the time and loves her foster mom. She is about 1 year old now and is looking for a family with another dog friend to play with, or two or three friends😂.

Double dutch birthday adoption for this family. Mom and newborn baby both had birthdays this past week and Schnitzel got to celbrate both with his new family!! What a reason to celebrate all around!! (Son #1 looks pretty pleased with both additions). 🥰

" It was definitely the cat who ate the ice cream!" Ozzy is a 4 year old neutered, housetrained, fullblooded Weimaraner male who has this incredibly innocent face and loving disposition. He is easy to walk on a lead and he is good with other dogs and cats and children too! He has been low energy so far and is a velcro dog and wants to be with people . What an amazing family dog he is !!! Please let us know if you believe Ozzy would be a good fit for your family.
