Weather events are the leading cause of power outages. High winds, lightning strikes, snow, ice, and wildfires can cause major damage to electrical equipment. But North Central Electric crews are no strangers to Mother Nature’s curveballs. We’re always ready to respond if the lights go out.
We're hiring! NCE is accepting applications for a Chief Operations Officer to join our co-op team.

There’s never a good time for a power outage, but you might be surprised to learn disruptions can occur from a variety of causes beyond the weather. Vehicle accidents and excavation work, small critters, and scheduled repairs are also common causes of power outages. Whatever the reason, North Central Electric crews are always ready to respond and get your power back on as quickly and safely as possible.

PEAK ALERT - Tuesday, July 16, 2024
It's going to be hot again today, so make sure you stay hydrated! Our power supplier, Buckeye Power, notified us that load control will be in effect today. This will affect North Central Electric members who voluntarily signed up for one of our load control rebate programs.
We encourage all members to conserve or delay energy use between 2 - 7 p.m. during the peak, if possible, when electricity costs the most. *Peak times may vary due to several conditions.
👉 What should you do during a peak alert?
Remember, electricity costs MORE during a peak period of demand.
🌡️ Delay hot water use, showering, washing clothes, etc., until after the peak.
🌡️ Turn off unnecessary lights.
🌡️Cook with the microwave rather than the oven, which uses more energy.

Talking with all of our members throughout the event, whether about electric vehicles, energy efficiency, or simply what being a co-op member means to them, is a big part of why we host this event. We hope you all enjoyed your time as much as we did!
If you took photos in the park, please share them in the comments!
