The Chronicled Voice
A safe space for artists living with disabilities & chronic illness.
Empowering, educating, inspiring, and fighting against stigma in our culture and the arts industry.

More annoying and without the satisfaction of getting to wack an animatronic.
āSince I started The Chronicled Voice I have had the pleasure of being invited to team up with advocates and non-profits around the world to help educate, empower, and research. It is clear that one of the best ways we can work toward change is to just keep telling our stories. This version of my story will be published by one of those organizations soon. It is an overview that focuses in a bit more on the unfortunate and infuriating patterns we see all the time in our health care system.ā https://www.mollynoorimezzo.com/post/your-title-what-s-your-blog-about-2

Learning about Fibromyalgia and Electric Shock Pain: Paresthesia
Electric shock pain can be sudden and intense. It feels like a jolt of electricity.
This type of pain typically manifests with nerve compression or injury, or some sort of dysfunction like fibromyalgia. It also occurs in other medical conditions. Nerve conditions such as neuropathy, pinched nerve (radiculopathy), and other autoimmune issues can produce electric shock sensations.

So important to remember and implement!
Thank you Expressions for including me in your publication today. This article was written 5 months ago and there have been some major updates since. Unfortunately, what we thought was causing my health issues and resulting in vocal problems was only part of the problem. We discovered that I have a couple of new autoimmune diseases and a thyroid nodule that, unfortunately, is not benign and will prompt a thyroidectomy in April. Soā¦all of the auditions I booked and recitals planned had to be canceled or postponed. Iām not able to teach as much as before. My goals for the year quickly started to look very different. I knew I wasnāt going to be able to operate as normal but also new that I had to do something that was meaningful and artistic. Soā¦ over the last 4 months I started for artists with chronic illness, collaborated with multiple organizations promoting awareness for chronic illness, started blogging, and started a photography business (). I donāt know what the rest of my year will look like as far as singing is concerned but Iām so grateful that no matter what Iām still able to be an artist and able to help others who may be going through similar difficult situations.
Havenāt been able to sing lately because of Fibro/Hashimotoās so Iāve been leaning (heavily) into my photographyā¦and I love it.
What is your artistic medium of choice?
Iām thrilled that I have been given so many opportunities lately to dive into my role as an advocate. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of being interviewed for Double U Triple Aās new documentary! This film is part of an effort to advocate for the Autoimmune Protection Act, the details of which can be found at www.doubleutriplea.org/read-our-proposal.
Check out this amazing organization and follow me at The Chronicled Voice to follow my journey as I advocate for artists with chronic illnesses.
Checks out.

āI have recently found myself in countless scenarios that leave me feeling, well...old.
And I love it. I could have titled this post "Ways to keep yourself young" or "50 is the new 20" or "Aging gracefully with Botox" or any other number of phrases someone approaching 40 has heard a million times. But I want to feel old- or older at least. The thought of trying to look or act or feel younger than I am is just not appealing to me. Isn't there a deep comfort that comes with knowing yourself a little better each year?ā¦ā

So funny, accurate and, unfortunately, applicable to other chronic illnesses.

When you celebrate abnormal results (from a test you demanded your doctor order) because you finally get the satisfaction of having answersā¦ and you were right. Doctors, LISTEN to your patients!!!!!
I get this a lot. I wear a lot of different hats and am very busy. Combine that with my professional headshots and the somewhat misleading glamness of a classical singer life and you donāt get a product that screams chronically ill.

I know pain memory is a big part of chronic pain illnesses. How many of you have specific places on your body that have recurring pain long after the injury has healed? For example, I will get a very real and fresh pain in the back of my arm where I get my allergy shots. Or in my arm where I had my blood drawn last month. Sometimes it is mirrored on the other side of my body as well. I think itās fascinating.
